i have a question regading the May 1 game vs Gold Coast, i was wondering what the cost is to see the reserves match and do Dees members get discount. Never been to a reserves match before so just wanted to find out

Good question but please note that the Casey Scorpions are not the Melbourne reserves!

In past years a MFC membership entitled you to free entry to home games and a discount for away matches.

I assume this will apply again this year.

Exactly the reason we need a reserve side, because at present we do not have one.

I'm betting it will happen.

I agree- this would help us enormously with the development of our list.

The problem with the concept of a stand alone reserves team is the cost and the resources necessary to do it properly. It would end up costing the MFC a fortune and besides, what an embarrassment it would be for the club if we reached the finals and had only one or two eligible players available like we did last year when Casey played off against Collingwood.

costs in the order of $100,000 for the mfc to have the partnership with casey, it would cost well over $1 million for a stand alone. these figures aren't exact but were suggested to me by some people involved in running a vfl club, when discussing this with them.

its not just a little extra unfortunately. In the mean time I am quite happy to support Casey in the vfl.

While I understand it is incorrect to call Casey the 'Melbourne Reserves' it is not incorrect to say that the 'Melbourne Reserves' play for Casey, as they do.

Those who received their club yearbook in the mail yesterday might have noticed that your Casey Scorpions membership ticket was duly included in the packaging.

Be careful because mine was stuck to one of the address pages which nearly went into the trash.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft.     Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock for the final week of training for the 1st to 4th Years until they are joined by the rest of the senior squad for Preseason Training Camp in Mansfield next week.
