Please someone tell me we were tanking last night and that the insipid performance was all part of Dean Bailey's masterplan to fool opposition teams into a false sense of security for when they play us in the home and away season.

Too soon for tanking jokes?

We were clearly tanking. You could tell by how many of our players were played out of position. As in they were on a footy field when it's becoming clear they belong in the stands. :D

HaHa! Sad but too True...

Good humour guys, sad that Dean Bailey was playing his serious gamepplan (whatever that is)!

Doesn't matter what game plan you have, if you can't hit targets or hold chest marks it don't mean jack.

If you're going to have a go at Bailey have a go at the fact he is meant to be a teaching coach. A teaching coach that is yet to instill the basics of the game on his players.

Support staff are largely responsible for skill development - DB's problem is that he is not focussing on basic football, rather he is trying to instill an outdated Port Adelaide style of play.

Bailey has got to demand more out of the senior Players-All of them. The Performance last night was pathetic from players who have been at the club 5-10 years. No Leadership.

Trying is just not good enough. If the senior players do not Set the Standard the young ones will never aspire.

Hopefully this aspect amongst others can be addressed in the coming month before Round 1.

But it must be done Now....otherwise we will never beat a top side again.

FFS we got thrashed by the Shockers last night....NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!

Yeah. It's hilarious to me that we've got a coach trying to copy the Premiership-winning strategy of his boss from six years ago, when not even that guy is still using his old plan.

What a waste of a game. There were some deplorable decisions by most players throughout the night. Think the players need to do more than just "try". They really lacked intensity.

We were out muscled and out ran by a better opposition, a switched on Fremantle can be dangerous.

Our 50/50's was shithouse.

Dee's really let us all down. We could've been like KANGAS are today, positive news, clubs going forward, look at our rookies, etc. Could've had an extra 5k supporter possibly from a good performance.

It's hard enough drumming up memberships without them putting up "performances' like last night.

On a positive, Miller kick 2 goals, Frawls was Solid and Green gave his all.

I think this is too simplistic. All these players have had junior careers, know how to mark and kick from an early age.

There has to be another reason nothing is working, there is just something wrong in our football department. That has to fall squarely on Dean's head. Three years is unacceptable.

The Real Problem Orange, Is that the Problem has been around a lot longer than Dean Bailey.

This club has lost games it should never have lost for years. The Bread & Butter games that put us in the Top 4 rather than 6-7 after Round 22.

Eg. 2006 We lose both Games to Carlton-They were Rubbish that year & we went walk about.

That sort of stuff has been going on as long as i have been following Melbourne.

Now i am not saying we should have won last night, But our senior Players did not lead as they should have, The Debutants deserved better than that.

I hope the Footy Dept were quietly Furious last night.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
