That last super goal was touch and go. Probably just on the siren.

In the end we shouldn't have ever let that happen. We are far too loose, and our centre square set ups are, for lack of a better word, idiotic.

That is not the players' fault, but then again it is they who are out there and they need to take control and man up as required. Sandilands was always going to smash us in the ruck, but there is no reason why we should let him tap the ball to free players.

Jurrah has been disappointing. He doesn't strike me as someone who would let the hype go to his head, but he seems more casual than he should be. It was always going to be harder for him this season, with defenders cracking down on him and not giving him much space. He has to adjust to that and quickly!

On a positive note, both Scully and Trengove seem to fit right in. Trengove's tap to Maric for the set up of the Miller goal was brilliant, and showed his great awareness.

And as the commentators noted, Scully is almost too quick and smart for his teammates. He is operating one step ahead of them.

Again, it's the decision making moreso than the skills which are killing us. We look nervous when we have the ball, almost scared to make mistakes which puts us under enormous pressure.

Hopefully we've shaken off those pre-season cobwebs and we start to look a little more alive in the second quarter.

4 goals against us from frees, two that were 50 metre penalities chucked in and two defensive infringements that weren't there

WTF are you doing Jurrah, he's not having a crack

Maric one great pass, pathetic every other time he went near it

Bennell is struggling

Warnock pathetic

Martin and Spencer simply not AFL standard

Hhahahaha I thought I was getting a little frustrated!!! Maybe a touch to much curry and beer before the game?

Anyone with Foxtel IQ, rewind and watch the clock. The clock was on zero for almost a second before they sounded the siren. Robbed!

which part is inaccurate?

they are playing like a bunch of children out there, mentally they are just not there. Wherever the ball is, they aren't, and the Dockers have loose men every single time they get possession. Around the disputed ball we are being destroyed

He looked to be looking for someone to be coming past for the hands off... Junior was the closest to him standing flat footed 10 meteres behind him unfortunately. Hopefully Sylvia and he can get on the same page so Hi-Ho is always steaming past Scully around the ground.

WTF are you doing Jurrah, he's not having a crack - He is having a crack finding space but he has the fumbles tonight, 1st time I have seen that from him.

Maric one great pass, pathetic every other time he went near it. Rubbish, he has been working hard around the ground to get to contests and then try and be a swing man. He needs to hit more targets I agree but again there seems to be very little movement up forward.

Bennell is struggling - Agree he is a little bit, but he will improve.

Warnock pathetic - Again harsh, when the ball is coming often and with umpires being so trigger happy makes it hard.

Martin and Spencer simply not AFL standard - Martin nice on the lead early, kicking still needs work. Spencer is a young ruckman who will not see his best work for 3-4 years...

Jurrah's confidence is skewiff, seems to be working hard but his judgement is way out. needs to take a big mark to get going.

warnock's disposal has been ordinary

bennell is having a crack, i don't know if he is suited to a shut-down role

martin and spencer have at least held thier own at the tap outs. martin played a key defensive role well, has a lot to learn about giving value around the park.

Frawley has been good.

Jones has been very good, something happens when he gets it. his flat penetrating kicking has been great.

green hasn't been his assured self, davey has struggled to get into it, sylvia has contested well but not involved enough, ditto moloney.

who cares about the 9 pointer just want to see them come out and make some good progress in the second half. Lets go boys have a crack!

That's the one. Let's just shake the cobwebs out and start gelling.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
