I think the "fact" he's a Collingwood supporter has nothing to do with this and we should not use this incident to generalise an entire supporter base.

He probably couldn't name 4 pies players and I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even go to the game.

Agreed 45HG16. I don't see what this has to do with Collingwood at all, and am pretty disappointed the author of the headline and the article bothered mentioning it. It's not relevant. This guy is just a farquit, it doesn't matter what football team he supports.

There is no case of revenge or justice being done here.

A case of a dysfunctional bloke from a broken upbringing does damage to an innocent person.

The guy will and should be punished for the crime but there are no winners in this.

This is an event that transcends footy.

It is was a terrible thing to happen, especially for Brad and his family, but this is an issue that should be left to the courts to deal with.

We as football fans should obviously be against any violent action against supporters. We should not try to rile up opposition fans over violence against one of our own - using one horrible event to have a dig at an opposition.

I don't understand you last sentence, it seems it just repeats itself but I think you get where I'm coming from.

BTW, for every jibe we receive about Range Rovers I'm sure they get about 10 back in return.

The ONE TODAY HAS BEEN SENTENCED-Judge sentenced Siegle to 12 months' detention in a youth justice centre, to be served immediately.The others will a greater term.That will teach the thugs.

The Defence Lawyer is probably too nice a guy to have to deal with such cases. Having said that, if it wasn't for the expertise of Rainer, the kid may have gotten worse.

Obviously its tough, but it does happen in EPL.

You can start by preventing anyone from buying tickets in that name, or from owning a membership.

Might not be foolproof, but there are ways.

Agree its tough. In EPL they have smaller grounds with segragated entry and standing with security amongst and with the crowds before and during the games due to past disasters.

AFL tickets are not bought in people's name so without tighter IT security AFL grounds will struggle to enforce it.

I for one cant work out how you could ban someone from an AFL ground in Australia. Anyone can go up, pay their cash up at the window, and walk through the turnstile.

The 'woman' that threw the cup of beer at Brad Johnson last year while bragging about it to a friend on the phone 'banned' herself from Lions games for two years or something didnt she? It's merely a symbolic gesture to be banned from games here.

Same with a cricket game, if you get thrown out for playing up during a One-Day game at the G for instance, whats to stop you going around 3 gates further up and buying another ticket??
