Could someone please post a best 22 for 2006 so we can see how great the changes have been over the last 3 to 4 years?

This is the team from Round 21 against Geelong;

B: Whelan, Carroll, Holland

HB: Bruce, Rivers, Ward

C: Green, McLean, Johnstone

HF: Yze, Miller, Pickett

F: Robertson, Neitz, Davey

FOLL: White, Jones, McDonald

I/C: Bartram, Godfrey, Jamar, Bell

EMG: Motlop, Smith, Sylvia

Thanks Billy,

Interesting eh! Only Bruce, Rivers, Green, Miller, Davey, Jones, McDonald, Bartram, Jamar, Bell and Sylvia left out of the 25 from that round.

And of those, Bruce, Miller, McDonald, Bell and maybe Bartram are probably on borrowed time.

Huge turnover, we've lost some serious talent and experience in Neitz, Yze, White, Robertson, Johnstone, Whelan et al.

Of those players left from that team, how many would expect to be playing in the team come round 21 next year?

Bold = 8 players from that 2006 side that I would consider for my best 22 for the 2010 season.

(Out of the 11 that are still on for the 2010 list)

It will be interesting to compare next year the round 1 teams from 2008 and 2010, both against Hawthorn, there will be a massive difference.

This is the team from Round 1 2008:

B Paul Wheatley Nathan Carroll Colin Garland

HB Ricky Petterd Daniel Bell James McDonald

C Brad Green Brock McLean Simon Buckley

HF Cameron Bruce Brad Miller Adem Yze

F Michael Newton David Neitz Russell Robertson

Foll Jeff White Aaron Davey Nathan Jones

I/C Paul Johnson Brent Moloney Cale Morton Isaac Weetra

EMG Jace Bode James Frawley Mark Jamar

Wheatley, Carroll, McLean, Buckley, Yze, Neitz, Robertson, White, Weetra all gone. Bell, Miller, Newton all close to certain to not play. I also doubt PJ will play, and Petterd's got some competition for his spot. That's a lot of changes.

Wow, Neitz, Newton, Robbo and Yze all listed to play in the forwardline together. Now that's what I call 'frontal pressure'. Was Bailey "list managing" from the word go?

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

It's Game Day and after 2 losses on the trot the Dees must win against the Saints today at the MCG to keep in touch with the Top 4. A loss today will see them drop out of the Top 8 for the first time since 2020.
