His kicking is very good too. Matthew Lloyd last night on One Week at a Time said he has one of the best, if not the best, goal-kicking style in the competition. Keeps his head up and focused on the target until just before he drops, he watches the drop, keeps his head over the ball, doesn't fall back, and kicks through the ball. And his field kicking is great too, as we saw when he passed to Green lace-out.

Who knows what he could do with a full year...

One of the commentators simply put it asa simple kicking style doesnt over think the kick... and that pass to Green, awesome stuff there.

oh and he should have had 6 that day, how can it not be advantage when he kicked a goal? it was at such a pivotal point in the game.

I, for one, will be very happy when they change the advantage rule next year, and put the onus on the player. No more of this "Only a behind? Well, since you're in range you can try again," when a player misses a shot after playing on from a free.

But anyway, one thing I hate is when good forwards get turned into midfielders. But having made Jurrah highlights videos from all his games last year, and of course watching him closely this year, if he had the engine I've no doubt he'd be a gun in the middle.

The few times he's ventured into the middle, he's produced some gold. A couple of brilliant hitout reads, clearance, and beautiful delivery on his left to the forward line last year.

He knows where the ball is going and the best position to put himself and use his pace.

Shown some creative hands in the middle this year that lead to shots on goal.

I wouldn't want to see him moved in the next couple of years, but as the forward line develops and so does his fitness, I'd like to see him tear up the wings doing as he pleases.

I don't understand. Is Jurrah a star for the MFC? Of course he is. He's in our best 22 and has kicked bags. Aside from Green, Frawley and Jamar who've had AA years... He is going to be one of the most recognisable faces in footy next year.

If you rephrased the question to "Is Jurrah a star who plays for Melbourne" or "Is Jurrah a star of the AFL..." Then yeah, you might find some discussion.

And going on the fact he's universally adored by opposition supporters, commentators etc, and the fact that he'd easily get onto any list in the AFL... Yeah. He's a star already.

Agree. Good description of him showing he's wares. I know he has only played 8 games this year, but hasn't his fitness & confidence improved throughout those games ! I'm quite excited by the prospect of what warmer weather and September might produce from LJ. (Sound like a kid in a lolly shop don't I ?). I reckon he'd thrive in Spring. In fact he would blossom. boom boom. (sorry!)

Post it here if you can. That left foot snap and acceleration to get to that position was awesome from the weekend, not to mention the other highlights including the delivery to Dunn - nice and low trajectory. Reminiscent of his delivery to spot up Miller in the corresponding Rd 22 fixture against the Saints last season.

I voted no because the guy clearly isn't a "star". And he especially wasn't a "star" at the start date of this thread. He may, or may not become a "star". If he does become a "star" he'll cearly have overcome his softness. He'll never become a "star" while he's soft. In reality, we won't know if he's overcome his incredibly soft tendencies until he plays in the heat of a final.

We all hope he does, as his natural ability is extraordinary.

An easy "YES" for me. And not because I have his no. 48 badge pinned to my jumper as well as his autograph on the top right shoulder blade of my jumper either...

- Do people go to games to watch Jurrahcane? Yes.

- Does Jurrah kick bags? Yes (has kicked six lots of 4 bags and one bag of 5 in a total of 19 games!).

- Is he the face of the MFC? Certainly for the indigenous community he is, he worries opposition teams (including supporters) and he was on the MFC website's banner at the top during the season.

All in the name of 19 games. Boy, I can't wait until he's a seasoned player!!!

Jurrah is the most skillful player at the MFC by the length of the Flemington, Caulfield and Mooney Valley straights combined.

If he can average 3 goals a game next year, I'll elevate him into star status. He was a 'star' against North.

The name Adrian McAdam ring a bell? If not - 23 goals in his first 3 games, 68 goals in his first season, 92 goals from 36 games. 36 games is all, no more.

LJ has great potential, but I'm still not prepared to say he's a star. I want him to play over 100 games for the MFC, while he is currently showing that he has star qualities, I think anything less than 100 games would be disappointing in my view. We don't go around calling McAdam a star, although he could quite easily have become one.

what you have posted is hard to argue in my opinion, undeeniable. i took the question in a more general sense too. Jurrah has a huge following among supporters - not just Melbourne supporters.

anyone see the 2010 AFL collector player swap cards this year ? each club had a star player characterture . Jurrah represented Melbourne. star.
