Hoopla -here are the hit out and efficiency stats for Meeson's 4 games last season:

(Hit Outs/Disposal Effciency) 22/88% 12/94% 9/56% 5/78%

Average 12 hitouts and average disposal efficiency of 80%

I don't know where you are getting your 4 hitouts and 25% effciency stats from.

Average time on ground was 70% with 60% of his possessions being contested.

You just love Jamar at the expense of recognising any other Melbourne ruckman and word statistics to ensure that the players you personally dislike are shipped from the club or just leave themselves. Your influence amongst the MFC is behind the scenes but getting more powerful everyday. Meeson's gone. Did you know he is from the Ablett's old club Modewarre?

I think you and Hightower are putting the wrong numbers in front of me to get me to post.

When you get the numbers at Board level everyone will bow to the Hoopla you have created!

I have no idea about stats for Meesen's games, but I think he performed quite a bit better when he played earlier this year than a lot of people are getting credit for.

... then again, I shouldn't be surprised.

That's not to say he's answer to our ruck woes.

Just that he actually did perform quite well in his limited performances.

Hardly a sign of things to come, but even less a reason to condemn him completely.

Jamar has definately improved in all areas of his game but anyone that Mark Blake can take the [censored] out of you cannot regard highly no matter what EVER!- which is what Blake did to Jamar in 2008.

Jamar has to get 200 Champion Data points a game just to break even from the embarrassment of Mark Blake (the worst player in the league) lairing over Jamar.

The big dummy in the grand final footy show that Shane Crawford called Mark Blake -what a classic and apt description of a muppett is what Blake is and if he is even contemplating doing that to you can't be that good. Now Jamar is better than Blake but that is nothing to pin your hat on.

I think Hoopla told Jamar that and that is why he has become a better player.

You won't lol when your numbers are proven incorrect and everyone will think wrongly that Hoopla doesn't know anything about football when you do and are a major MFC mover and shaker!

OK Darren. I'd forgotten that no one could ever get dodgy numbers past you!

I confess that I did make up the 25% efficiency rating .The 4 was in a newspaper after one of his better games but I couldn't remember what percentage went to advantage. I suspected it was zero - but I thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt

Your figures confirm the old saying - that " there are lies, damn lies and statistics". 12 hit outs per game? .... must have been before the umps recalled bad bounces! Unfortunately although he is a good athlete for his size, JM is not a good knock ruckman - and he has much further to go to get there than his injury prone body will carry him.

You can't possibly claim that Mark Blake is the worst player in the competition when John Meeson is on an AFL list.

Thankyou for acknowledging that I do know something about football - even though all that "mover and shaker stuff" is a crock of excrement .

( How perceptive is that HighTower?)

You are joking right? Mark Blake is the worst AFL footballer on any list currently. He is hopeless. Meeson is a better player and it just shows how good Geelong is to carry such a poor footballer. Don't know why you are so in love with Mark Blake, I hope Steven King hammers him. This me or him ultimatum is acceptable when you are a Judd but for Mark Blake to do it -he must know where the bodies are buried or who the gay players at Geelong are.

I'd take Blake over Newton. Maybe.

I'd also take Blake over Ryan Murphy at Fremantle.

So Blake is not the worst player on any list currently. But I'd prefer Meesen.

I really want to see Vardy at the Dees. Ive seen him a few times and think he is the best rucking option. If he is available at 18 id be a bit perplexed as to why we wouldn't take him. Then again, recruiters do know more than me.

But I believe im right in saying Vardy is definately a top 20 pick, but I don't think he'll last to 18 personally. To good for number 18, to poor for number 11. So we may just miss out.

I'll be hoping Vardy falls to 18 on draft night.

would like to see Liam Patrick(Jurrah's cousin), in red and blue. Maybe a risk worth taking.......

When all the hype and chest beating is left out of the posts it all comes down to this...... 2010

Over the last week or so I have been watching the DVD's of this year, watching certain players, not the game.

I was surprised by how well Jamar did latter in the year, he not only held his own but won his position, and played the team game. Its surprising how many times he tapped cleanly to his mids.

As I said before 2010 is the year for decisions for, PJ [who I like] , Spencer and Meeson. It wouldnt harm if we got a ruckman this year to give us an option after the 2010 cull. Not all of those three will make it.

Agree, we could rookie a ruckman at this stage. With picks 1,2,11,18 it could well be the best available rather than needs basis. Pick 34/PSD...who knows at this stage. In a week or two's time we'll have a better idea.

We know that you got Meeson delisted! Have you given up on Juice?

Juice on the rookie list is OK by me.... as we still have access to his potential

You'll be pleased that Meeson is no longer a challenger to Blake's title as the worst player on an AFL list

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get rid of Bartram and Hughes. Hughes may not be the weakest rookie in the AFL - but at 23 he is 'lay down misere' as the rookie least likely to make an impact at AFL level

Meesen is better than Mark Blake. You cannot be serious to continue to think that.

For weakest Rookie -what about Polak when he gets Rookied?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
