Russell Robertson – 'Robbo' had a pleasing end to the season. It's been well-documented he didn't get into the team at times because we were getting games into younger players, but his attitude was first-class. He went back to Casey and kicked goals and improved his tackling and chasing. To come back and impact on games late in his career was fantastic and great for the club – Sean Wellman on Melbournefc.com.au

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Robbo!

He wouldnt be welcome back for a while considering his post career claims re: Tanking, Keeping Davey and the Treatment of older players. No doubt he will rock up to the B&F like a feted superstar.

Russell, if you can just shut up for a bit we'll forget the sour grapes but if you can't do that then [censored] off back to Tassie and become a nothing, would be rock star. I'd really rather you stuck to the first though. You are better than that.

One of my favourite players ever, wears his heart on his sleave and played the game to entertain. Passionate about the colours and club, and that is why I will always love him. I won't hold it against him for saying what he did, he has never quite mastered the "robot in the media" trick that all modern players need to nowadays. Good luck to you Robbo.

Am as harsh a critic as anyone but have also been wonderfully entertained by the great "Robbo" . All in all it must be a hard realisation to look in the football mirror and see the reaper in your background.

His time was up...the club knew it...he knew it...we knew it.

Go walk in the sunshine and strum your guitar lad........ but just do it where we dont have to listen ;) :D

I am disappointed of what Robbo said, but I loved him too much as a player to have hatred for him. I think we could of kept Robbo for one more year. Puts too much pressure on Jurrah and Watts. Ok now Our likely 3 targets up forwards are Bate,Miller, and Jurrah. if one of those three get injuried, say Miller got injuried we are down to Bate and Jurrah, and if one of those get injuried we then probably have to look at using Sylvia at C.H.F like in 2008. Although this may give more time for Martin to spend time up forward and if Garland can get fit then we can use him down there. We cannot get rid of Miller. Every team has there old wise forward we don`t at the moment. Thats why I wanted to keep Robbo. So then if we break down with injury again like the last two years we still have old Robbo supporting Bate,Miller and Jurrah.

Rumour going around that the Bloos are interested in him as a back up forward and want him as part of the McLean trade.

Given that he returned from a serious injury I think he played quite well at times.

However, I'm not sure he had the same leap and following failed marking attempts he spent a little too much time on the ground.

It would have been interesting to see how he pulled up with a pre-season behind him.

They can have him ...but he has to record their official club song for playing at the G... hell has to be some price

If they're interested they could look to the PSD instead.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
