Great clip. I'll be saving the file to CD so I can look back on it in 10 years time for sure.

I cant say how thrilled I am that Liam is a Demon. He just makes me smile. Cannot wait to see what this guy will be doing when he reaches the prime of his career.

Was an awesome watch

Fantastic. I loved it . He is my favourite Demon. Finally someone to get really excited about in the red and blue again.

and is that the most excited and animated we've seen Bailey ?? you cant help but think there really is so much to come :)

Great story. It's impressive how quickly he's adapted to city life and how well his English has progressed. Incredible bloke.

i have neva been soo proud to be a melbourne supporter coz its people like him that make me think how lucky i am!!

unleash the walpiri wizard of 2010!

He is the sort of forward I always hoped we would get. I love watching him play. I was originally keen to get Nic Nat mainly because of the crowd pull factor that these type of players have. But now we have Liam, he will have all that and more.....go dees

I just watched it again and I'm sure they changed the ending. Yesterday when they asked Bailey how long he'll play, it stopped after "I'm not too sure to be honest", but this time there was a little more of him saying that he won't just be here one year and then gone.

Did I just miss it the first time or was it changed?

Good observation Clint. I just watched it again. I get tingles watching that again.

"Skinny Latte's"...

It didn't change.

I have a recording of the broadcast and it includes Bailey continuing on after 'I'm not too sure to be honest'. Maybe you didn't catch it because there's a reasonably lengthy pause and the vision cuts to some footage of Jurrah playing footy, but the Bailey excerpt continues on.

I think that the online version was changed, that is it cut off a bit of the end initially but it was fixed.

Sure, I get you. The [original TV] broadcast definitely had the 'end bit'.

Seeing some of the clips of Jurrah playing for his 'local' club etc certainly gave some insight into how alien an enrivonment Melbourne and the AFL must be.

It's also nice to get some positive media exposure for the Dees!

I just watched it again too.... it's such a good story.

I saw the Jurrah piece from the Rising Star ceremony last night as well. Poor guy has been inundated with media. Hopefully that's the end of that now.

I don't like Mark Howard much.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
