Richo

I like this fella & his honest view of the world.

I'd really like for Richmond to get their house in order after being a miserable shambles off field for years.

Imo they need both vets, Richo, that clubs spiritual & moral hub, see franchise player, & Cousins, the professional little player with a huge heart & self indulgences aside, a great clubman.

I really hope they have a clean out and keep these 2 leaders for direction.

Have always loved Richo. Frankly, I would have had very similar moments of petulance if I'd had guys kicking the ball at my feet or over my head for over a decade. Was wasted on the Tigers.

As for them getting their house in order - I'm not sure what I'd do if I didnt have Richmond to laugh at. Long may they continue to be a joke.

Tough decision, I would get rid of all the older players but i would do it with a heavy heart.

Richo would be one of the most universally loved players in league history. Always great value to watch, whether he's playing well or not. Oneday I was walking down Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, and Richo was walking about 10 metres ahead of me. The number of people calling out "Richo!" was pretty funny.

Unfortunatly, I think he's done. It's a tough decision for the Tiges but I can't see them keeping him on next season. Even if he gets his body right, it is doubtful how it will hold up and exactly how much football he would be able to play next season. He would be taking up a spot on the list that they could give to a young prospect.

Richmond have to make tough decisions on a few veterans. Richo is one of them. It will be interesting to see what they do. But as it stands, I'd say Richo is not going to be retained.

I've never understood the Richo hype. This'll be an unpopular post, but remember a couple of years back when everyone decided they loved him? He was one of the most derided players in the league for the majority of his career. Dummy spits at his team-mates and all that. I reckon he's MASSIVELY over-rated. I hate that most put him ahead of Neitz, who played half the years as a forward, and kicked a ballpark amount of goals too. Took the dees to finals a number of times and was one of our greatest ever leaders.

Add to this the fact that the Toigs are out and out my most hated club, and Richo is their figurehead. It stands to reason.

Having said that, if people here claim he's a gentleman off the field, then I have no rebuttal for that in particular. I suppose I can say at least he was interesting.

He's always done well in matches against Demons.

Although his opponent was often Nicho.

Should have a good career in the media, seems a great bloke with a good personality. Not a meathead like so many others, e.g. Taylor or boring e.g. Reiwoldt.

Not a chance i'd be putting him above Neita, but you're right, a couple of years back there was a shift in thinking, where the majority of people decided they didn't hate him anymore and they loved him.

I'm one of them - couldn't stand him for the first 5 or so years, and he's grown on me over the last couple.

Then again, who wouldn't love a guy who can take a towering mark 10m from goal against you and put it out on the full. Oh, and for the record, that 'horizontal mark' at the Dome last year against us was speeeccciiiaallll (as was Davey's leap over him)

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
