why l think we need Hardwick

Sorry to all for the spelling in the last post. l have not got back to say my point due to having to work long hours and late nights.

Damien Hardwick played 207 AFL games 153 for Essendon and 13 goals. Under Coach Kevin Sheedy who is one of the greatest coach we have seen.

when at Essendon he won the Best and Fairest in 1998 . In 2000 he played in the premiership side that smashed us and also was all Australian.

in 2000 and 2001 he played in the International rules series and played in a losing grand final side.

he then moved to Port where under Mark Williams said to be one of the best Teachers of football was part of the 2004 premiership side.

Since 2005 he has been working as an assistant coach at Hawthorn . And as you all no won the premiership last year.

in 2007 Hardwick was shortlisted for the senior job at melbourne just like Chris Connolly.

l am not knocking our club or saying sack any one but trying to see who else could bring something to our beloved club.

l think Jim stynes , Cameron Schwab , Dean Bailey , Chris Connolly and James Mcdonald should all be givin a big pat on the back for what they have done.

l was hoping to see who everyone else would like to see at the club .

on top of this Damien Hardwick was a hard nose little player which l thought would give us help in drawing the line in the sand.

but maybe some of our supporters need to harden up too.

So what do you suggest mate we sack the coach mid contract, incur another debtor then begin rebuilding again from scratch with a new coach and staff. if we need Hardwick so much then why was he not eh first choice when the recruitment process began for the coaching position. Agree with your points

Mine was merely a poor attempt/tongue in cheek way of saying that as Hardwick is being touted for certain attributes in the opening post, Bailey must therefore be so too as he for most was there in a superior role

No, I think your wrong, we are on the right track at the moment. We dont have the onfield personnel yet, but were getting closer each draft to balance up our list. The other thing we need to be, is have some patience as we get No's of games of experience into these talented players were gathering. Just my opinion.

Next year we'll hopefully win 6, give or take & then the year after 2011, should be pressing for around 7th - 10th.

We'll be competing with the likes of other teams, who will then be on the climb, Essendon, West Coast, Carlton, Richmond, Port Adelaide.

It's important that we Build the list talent now, completely, before we start winning regularly. Bring the whole side on together.

No doubt there will be changes over the next 3 years or more, but not yet. We need to consolidate this group for the next 2 years, 2010/11, then reassess.

At that point we should be starting to climb into the middle of the ladder, & would be a good time to take stock.
