Game Day Thread?

Kyle Cheney and Lynden Dunn flew back from the Coast after not being required as emergencies for the St. Kilda game. As a result James Strauss lined up in the Casey seconds who had a good win.

Casey 3.6.24 Geelong 1.1.7. Juice has 2, Robbo 1. Best: Dunn, Cheney, Valenti, & Petterd.

Half Time: Casey 7.9.51 to Geelong 4.4.28. Goals: Newton 3, Hughes 2, Jurrah, Robertson. Dunn and Cheney the best. Robbo's missed a few.

Just heard the score in Geelong v Essendon. If any Cats fans are on their way here I suggest they turn around and head for the G or wherever they're playing the Bombers.

Off to the canteen.

Watts has been ok a few touches early playing on the wing sneaking down forward at times. Robbo has kicked 1.4 at half time has missed easy shots 20-30 m out. Juice has been good kicked three early, strong marking and 2nd efforts. Bartram very very quite till half time.

Scorps continuing on with their good form. Great goal to Dunn and Hughes has also just kicked a nice one. He's really playing well and proving dangerous.

Cheney is playing a special game today - outstanding. Dunn, Petterd, Valenti and Hughes among the best.

Robbo's kicked 1.6.

Freezing out here!

A third to Robbo and the Scorps push themselves back into finals contention with a good win over the Cats. A late goal to Jurrah, his third and its Casey 16.15.111 to 11.9.75 at full time.

Late in the game Robbo showed that he might have learned his less by committing the selfless act of passing while within range of goal.

All of Casey's goals were kicked by Melbourne players who were pretty dominant up forward. The Scorpions were well served by James Wall (ruck and defence) and tall backman Peter Faulks.

Cheney wins man of the match from me but here are the official club stats -

Casey Scorpions 3.6.24 7.9.51 11.12.78 16.15.111

Geelong 1.1.7 4.4.28 7.7.49 11.9.75

Goals

Casey Scorpions Hughes, Jurrah, Newton, Robertson 3, Petterd 2, Dunn, Valenti

Geelong Podsiadly 4 Johnson 2 Allwright Hunt McKenna West Westwood

Best

Casey Scorpions Valenti Wall Cheney Dunn Watts Faulks

Geelong Hogan Hunt Laidler Podsiadly West Allwright

Next week's game is on Saturday and is being televised by ABC1.

Sounds like Watts is miles off having an impact at AFL level, disappointing for us fans.

Don't worry. You'll get 10+ years of joy from him.

Yes im still confident he will be a good player in the future, but i think deep down we were all hoping he would have a reasonably immediate impact given the raps on him.

Looking forward to seeing Jurrah play.

When can the rookies start playing? Hughes would have to be very close to selection if allowed.

I can't think of another recent number 1 pick who has had a slower start to their career.

Give him a break. He was taken at the age of 17 and only turned 18 a few months back. Just give him some time and he'll show us something.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
