Queen's Birthday @ Fed Square - Let's do it again

Let’s get excited...

First things first. I hope that the club are going to have another march to the G like before last year’s game. It was a fantastic sight to see all the red and blue in Fed Square. On Sunday the Hawks were doing a similar thing to celebrate their record membership. I actually went to Fed Square early with a couple of Hawks mates as supposedly Jeff Kennett was going to say a few words and there would be merchandise..

Well there was nothing.

About 300 Hawks fans turned up and rather than Kennett come down and congratulate the fans it was just some guy from Hawthorn in a suit with a megaphone on the stage telling people to start walking to the G. My Hawks mates weren’t happy about it so thank god Transport was right there for a few pre match frothies.

I really enjoyed the Fed Square experience last year and i want the club to do it all again and get the word out as early as possible and make this a Queens Birthday tradition.

Get a merchandise stand up for the new jumpers, have that egg and bacon roll stall again...make it a festival!

It’s our proudest day of the football year and we should be ramming it down the throats of the football world that Queens Birthday belongs to Melbourne.

So c’mon MFC...get the word out again and get to Fed Square and see that sea of red and blue stream down Birrarung Marr and towards our home!

I don't think it will happen again this year, last year it was almost the start of the season when they told everyone about it, and mostly did it coz of 150 years, would do it if MFC come out and said they were doing it again but won't do it if there are rumors going around that it will happen again.

make a day of it. get to the city nice and early, coffee and breakfast, walk to the g, a few froffies maybe, cheer on the boys (& jacka too hopefully), celebrate a win against the filth, & then head across the road with your fellow supporters, & celebrate with the team. then take tuesday off work with a hangover.

Already got Tuesday off :D Huge day, hope they give out flags again. The sea of red heading up Birrarung Marr looked awesome last year.

I'll be there. If they're giving out flags again, i'll be able to donate my players/coaches/Jimma signed flag to a worthy recipient and enjoy getting the signatures again :)

I may not make it to Fed Square but not even swine flu is stopping me from going to the game.

After all that talk about going if it was official, i cant make it early and will be pushing to make the game in time for the start, dag nabit.

with the messiah being named in the squad, maybe it should be renamed "Pilgrimage to the G", where they can feed the masses with 2 meat pies & 5 buckets of chips.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
