It's not about being shifted, it's about looking at the current AFL problem and finding a way that the MFC can use that problem to its benefit.

In this case, we could offer the MCG to them for a large sum of cash.

Was there any proof that we would've been compensated for moving our game to Docklands?

Poor outcome for Geelong and Saints fans.

For the record Port have a better record at the MCG than Etihad.

I hope there should be compensation for us, from the AFL, Saints as well owe us 1, & hopefully the AFL can help us in the 2010 Fixture for being helpfull with the Scheduling.

It seems things have recently changed.

For what its worth I'm all for a get away from 2010 immediately prior, or after the midseason break to play @ Darwin or Qld, - Carara or Cairns/Nth Qld.

A few days up north, mid winter could be what the doctor ordered. As long as it's televised.

Yes I can. But both are related to revenue and crowd numbers. Obviously the possible game switch was motivated by crowd numbers. Read all the posts on this board about moving games and it will always be suggested that we move games against Port, Fremantle, West Coast, Adelaide, or in the future Gold Coast and West Sydney. I hardly think we'll move a Melbourne v Essendon game to Darwin, will we? why? Revenue and crowd numbers.

Great news. I hate Etihad/Telstra/Docklands and want to play as few a games there as possible.

No, Melbourne was a 'sideshow' in all this. It was about the Saints and Geelong and we just happened to be in the middle.

Fark me, fancy Melbourne supporters embracing our club playing anywhere other than the MCG.

(The only proviso is when we're in control and it's a Tassie Hawks type Darwin strategy)

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded.     Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was.
