How long until we see Davey, Jetta, Bennell, Woneamirri and Jurrah all in the same Demon lineup?

I dont think it will be too far off to be honest.

Exciting times ahead for all fans of the MFC.

interesting you didnt mention Wheels in that group of players. without enciting a riot considering where we are at as a side and the kids doing well is there a need for his return . turning 30 this year he will not be part of the next push . have we seen the last of him?

Good point Al, maybe when the season is all but over & all the bro's are playing a good brand of footy, the club may give Wheels a send off to remember with all the Bro's together. Hopefully at the 'G'.

Have you seen Jurrah play?

Jurrah is still a way off playing AFL.

When I said not too far off, I didnt mean the next fortnight, or even month.

But it will happen around mid season, or just after.

I have been singing Jetta's praises since before the season started and I can now sit back and say 'told you so'........I spoke to them at the Intraclub and walked away totally impressed..............they are both going to be very good players for MFC.

Any grovelling apologies from anybody who wanted him dropped after the first game will be gratefully accepted

I also spoke to Wheels at the post match function...........he is itching to get back, the last two weeks he has got a corky, told him to avoid opposition knees and elbows...........he is itching to get back.........and is cursing his luck............he loved Bennell's game...........he will be back.........and also once back he wants to play another year.........so will be fighting to get it...........great........

both boys were great today... my only concern over Jetta is his kicking, he does shank quite a few, shanked one massively today... but he has all the other tools to make it... work on his kicking and he'll be an effective target... once Aussie is back it will be a real test for him to hold his spot in the side...

I'm a massive Wheels fan, and hope he plays this season out well, but with Bennell showing us a lot so far, Grimes hopefully to show us a lot throughout the season, I think this will be Matty's last...

I really hope he can get fit, back in the Red and Blue and finish out the season strong... he deserves nothing less... and a farewell against the Saints at the G in Round 22 playing alongside our other aboriginal players would be a fitting send off...

Thats cos Whelan is finished.

Had a brief chat to Whelan when he was sitting with the rest of the Melbourne boys in the ponsford stand during todays game. He's ready to go and seems quietly confident he can re-discover some of his form. I think you're all forgetting that injuries aside, Whelan is possibly the best tackler in the team. And unless you guys were watching a different game to me, these young Melbourne bodies can't seem to make a tackle stick. Not for the time being anyhow. Id imagine with more weights and more pre-seasons they will become a better tackling side, but at the moment we need hard bodies like whelan.

its time to learn to tackle, the role of back pocket specialist is a dying breed,

Moloney was ferocious in the tackle today.

Bennell is the most exciting of the new players for mine, he looks like he could be anything. Reminding me of Bruce.

:D

Whelan is a long way from done. Apart from the obvious ones, like Neitz, Whelan is one of our most important players of the 2000s. Not only that but he's one of the only mature-age leaders in the club who I rate highly. I want him in the side this year and next as soon as possible. Let him make his exit gracefully and while playing, then turn to the kids. While the defence has done well so far, they're not a finished product. Wrecker is, and always has been, the complete small defender, and just about our only one in the last 10 years.

This is why I'm not giving up hope. Aside from Green, and possibly Mcdonald, we lack leadership from older, more mature, heads. Whelan brings this to the team in spades with his intensity, work ethic and attitude.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
