The MFC Community Camp this year is at Casey on 6, 9, 11 & 13 February. Seems like we're doing it on the cheap since we train there anyway!

Doing it cheap??? Hmmm.... Would you rather the club forked out an all expenses paid trip to the bahamas for the whole squad?!?!

The purpose of the community camp is to spread and reinforce the AFL message throughout various communities around the country.

Casey is a key area for AFL - it is AFL heartland (ie high concentration of AFL supporters/head) yet is vulnerable to other codes. It is also a major growth area.

Bearing that in mind, the AFL would support a club establishing a strong connection with the local community.

MFC is making the connections, and the community camp reinforces that link.

Now if they would just announce what it is they are doing next week in the community (local paper printing deadlines would be close to expiry), that link might actually get some benefit out of the camp (and there would be some good promotion of the initiative)......

The intra-club match is at Casey Fields next Friday (13th) at 5:00pm. That is the culmination of the community camp.

There is also a NAB Challenge match at Casey Fields ay 2:00pm on Saturday 14 March. If MFC is not in the final of the NAB Cup that night, it will likely get the NAB Challenge match scheduled for Casey Fields on that day.

So that would be a couple of pre-season matches at Casey Fields.

You can never be too sure with the AFL, i'm sure one of last year's Grand Finalists will be out by that stage, and it has been a long time since we played in Geelong...

This is nothing but positive news imo, hopefully we can play the odd pre-season game there as well

agree wholeheartedly.. this is an absolute bonus for us. A win win win really

    Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force for training at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday morning for the MFC's School Holidays Open Training Session. DEMONLAND'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS REHAB: TMac, Chandler, McVee, Tholstrup, Brown, Spargo Brown might have passed his fitness test as he’s back out with the main group.  Sparrow not present.     TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on.     TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

    There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks.     A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
