My thoughts exactly. We're a really young team if you had to judge by those photos.

Amazing ..I look at all those pix and struggle to put names quickly to many. We are building such a different team :)

Looks like some even know how to kick a football properly !! ( thankgod for that !! )

Doesnt the ground look in magnificent nick !!

This is a NEW era !! roll on season 09 :)

was Jarrah a skeleton before he started playing footy.....those are the skinniest legs i have seen ever

Skinny skinny legs everywhere.

Who's the bloke with red boots that looks like Mcleod? Jetta?

It's Bennell i believe

Jamie Bennell. Will be a GUN.

thanks finally some meaningful photos of the boys! Watts conveniently wears a tshirt. hehe

Who is the guy standing with cheney in one picture and than further down with the ball in front on mcnamara?

Simon Buckley is a unit!

And if Kyle Cheney breaks into our best 22, with that stylish red mullet thing he has happening and his supposed aggression he could become a massive cult hero!

Daniel Hughes from the rookie list

Thanks heaps for the pictures, great work!

I, like many probably, struggle to put names to quite a lot of the faces but am very excited about the new Demon team coming together

Is that Pj who has the kevlar armour thing going on on his legs?

Might be but god it looks funny.

I thought that was Zomer. PJ has bigger biceps than that

Definitely Zomer.

Wow. So many faces I don't recognise.

Morton looks bigger (slightly), but at least he doesn't have the skinniest legs at the club.

Yeah he does and so does Davey. The guy looks huge

Thanks George. Great Photos. You have inspired me to get down to watch training one day soon.

Keep up the good work.

Like many I can't put names to the pics! Any chance we number them and note who it is???

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
