Who's available now the trade period is over?

I think ROK will sign on again with the swans?

Maybe we can get Lonegan?

I agree, R O'K will stay a swan or pur a massive $$$$$ on his head.

Lonegan will stay at the cats.

Who else is available?

Who the heck is out of contract?

Lovett, Campbell, ????????

even if both of those players went in the PSD we wouldn't want them

essendon dont want lovett

lets take a punt on him...... hes a gun lets face it

Lovett is contracted, Corey Jones is contracted, I think harris is too.

I actually think there is sod all.

A good club with first pick in the PSD would convince an uncontracted player that they want to get, not to re sign with his club. That's what a good club would do.

Hey guys how exciting is this:

We're getting an 18 year old that will get overlooked in the national draft. Gee it was well worth finishing bottom

Best case scenario. Last thing i want is for our team to turn into a retirement village for other clubs' rejects a la St Kilda right now.

what the hell do we do with CHOPPER?

Begin legal proceedings...

How do I feel, I have been telling people for months that if we finish last we can use the first PSD pick to blackmail clubs to trade players with us. What I forgot what was that players would have to want to come to us first.

I say we should turn our attention to trying to get Lonergan to bail on his contract negotiations and enter the PSD.

We should simply treat the PSD pick 1 at essentially the first pick in the rookie draft.

There are always plenty of quality players that aren't picked in the National draft. Just look at the awesome rookie listed players who have become champions... aaron Davey, McDonald and Robbo from our club... Dean Cox, Aaron Sandilands ring any bells???

Last year we picked up Stefan Martin in the PSD.... he's 21 and came from Sandy. he was speculative and for that reason probably wasn't picked up in the national draft.... now we'v got ourselves a 199cm player who's fastest at our club, and is big and strong fullback! let's find another such player!

Shannon Motlop. Or if he's carrying too much condition James Cook.

we need to ivnestigate and convince players who havent signed

hoping that dan harris or lovett

i reckon we should take cousins--can he go psd or draft? if psd- lets get him

we need to ivnestigate and convince players who havent signed

do you mean lets try and convince players like we did with warnock and prismall

My thoughts exactly!!

We should just go for the best young kid available. The last thing I want is a over priced reject at the club like Warnock will be.We need Prendergast to do what he's payed to do and that's recruit the best youngster's available.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
