Cheney started the season in the Sandy reserves and showed steady improvement despite some injury concerns. By late in the season, he was showing good form playing deep in defence for the Zebra seniors.

Seems to be hard at it and uncompromising, that's a mix that we are in desperate need of. Can only hope that he comes along in leaps & bounds in 2009.

i wanna bring back this thread im really intrested to hear what peoples thoughts on this kid. from what i have heard he has actually bualked up and looks fit aswell. with johnson gone could we see cheney play a couple of games next year just off the half back? i hear he is really aggressive and plays hard which comes really handy

His form for Sandy near the end of the season was very good...he came on in leaps and bounds this year..originally from Warracknabeal, he's a terrrific young kid and I hope he does well for Melbourne

Still needs a fair degree of improvement if he is to get a game with the Dees. He is definitely hard at the contest and that is a big positive.

I loved him straight out, for his toughness and attitude, so I expected more from him in his first year.

I don't see the upside with him, unless Wrecker can teach him a thing or two.

Sounds like the complete opposite of Christine Johnson!

Was a speculative draft pick, so we won't slit our wrists if he never comes good. But would cap off a sensational draft ,if he becomes a player.
