Anyone have any idea where he was roughly projected to go, prior to tonight? Just wondering- if he was expected to go later than pick 17 then that obviously leaves us with more options than we thought. Does this effect us, or not really?

6 - 12 prior to this.

Agreed 100%.

I wish everyone would shut up about Watts, he is seriously overrated.

I am starting to warm to Sidebottom as our number 1 pick.

Number 1 pick for Sidebottom, now you are being silly this guy will go in late first round or second round at worst, BOG in TAC G/F game does not warrant picked firstprefer the National championship form over that

Hence the hype on the top three

I remember the year Amon Buchanan was drafted, he got BOG in the TAC Cup GF for the Geelong Falcons after dominating in the midfield and then going to FF in the second half, doing a jeff farmer and winning the game for them by kicking 6 goals. Or it might have even been 8.

Its not unheard of for a player to look superhuman in a game like that, then turn out to be thoroughly average at AFL level.

Just wait till you see some highlights from the draft camp this week.

I bet you'll change your number one pick to some random youngster that can jump really high.

You are a fool.

Look YM. Melbourne are going to pick Watts, no question. Best to start liking him or you will hate our best young player. I originally didn't want Watts but I decided to watch some game tape, seen him play 6 games now and he is the best. Start looking at positives because he is the number 1.

Sidebottom doesn't deserve to be top 5, one amazing game doesn't equal the best. Ziebell, Hartlett, Vickery, Naitanui, Rich, Watts, Hurley are all better than him and would deserve our pick 1 ahead of him.

Especially when he's not manned up by the opposition defenders who were ordinary. How did he go in the championships when he had quality players on him?

Watts is the one. End of Story, get used to it.

exactly high tower

heaps of people say that demons arent silly enough to over look naitanui

all idiots we will get watts no doubt

natnui looks like a gun but hasnt got the brain all he can do is jump high and get an average amount off ball.

how did watts go in the tac cup when he had less quality players playing on him? answer: for a potential number 1 pick, he was useless..sidebottom dominates at that level like a top pick should

yes..but watts won the larke medal for the best agains the best mate.

i certainly know i'd rather take watts

sidebottom was on some crappy defenders

larke medal pfft, dont put all ur eggs into that basket. morton got the larke medal last year when he wasn't the best player in Div 1 for the championships.

Probably better than Jack 'The Invisible Man' Watts in the carnival Final.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
