Whether you are wrong or not, I ask anyone to gather enough players to delist to get Valent and Wonnas promoted, get the first PSD pick, and picks 1, 17, 19, 35 and 51 (as CC said we would take).

That is 8 deletions with only Neitz, Yze, Holland, White, Weetra, and Bode as certainties (IMO). If Bode has another year, I don't think he does, but if he does i'm sure they will pay him out to accomodate the places required to rebuild the list.

I was playing around with this problem in the delistings thread. It's an issue because Carroll and Meesen would be two obvious condidates but it means that we have to either delay promoting Wona & Valenti or let go someone else like Bell. I guess it's not such a bad problem to have, at the start of the year most of us had Garland and Warnock pencilled in, their improvement have put pressure on the rest of the list.

My preference is to target the over 25 group.

Two points of interest:

1. Our list management sucks

2. Nathan Carroll is the luckiest player on an AFL list this year.

see bell last year, when he was playing his best footy. he is a quality spoiler of the footy, marks his man well, is strong in the air, fast on his feet.

he has not bad disposal but makes terrible decisions. also seems to lack awareness of what is going on around him.

Correct. Appears to lack in peripheral vision when in possession of the ball. Which leads to bad disposal and puts himself under pressure which leads to errors/clangers/turnovers,,,,.....

T.G.R. over at 'ology has been calling for Bell to be played in the midfield and I think it has some merit.

Bell's faults would be magnified in the midfield.

Better off trying him up forward IMO, considering he played as a forward when a junior.

Whilst it wouldn't hurt, IMO I query the following: -

1/ His lack of peripheral vision is a problem

2/ Sustained aerobic capacity for midfield

I'd agree, but I don't think we really need a player of his type in the forward line while we already have Wonna, and to a lesser extent, Robbo. But I reckon if he was to play anywhere it'd be forward.

are you sure he played forward? i always thought he was a defender, but i thought he played in the country somewhere and had never had a proper 'coach' until he came to melbourne.

Rhino, out of interest, how come you seem to suddenly have issues with Meesen? (My apologies if you aways did, I just seem to only have noticed you posting them recently) Have you had these issues since/before we drafted him?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
