Yze overlooked?

What will Cox's injury be?

PJ is playing!

Carroll i think will get shopped at the end of the year for a pack of chips! One of the only ones i can remember coming into the team for one week only to get ommited for the next.

I think Yze really deserves a spot, the guy has worked so hard at sandy and has been in great form.

Hopefully Newton can come in and show that defensive pressure he showed for sandy when he layed 9 tackles.

Good to see Newton get another gig, for better or worse it'll keep the game interesting at least.

Our term really has become a dogs breakfast with this late run of injuries.

I wonder what Carroll's thinking, didnt think he was our worst last week.

Yze overlooked?

Good. A player as talented as Yze picking up 30+ touches in the VFL is meaningless.

Not bad. Miller and Newton in at least provide us with forward targets.

My thoughts exactly, might be the complete opposite to last week if we primarily play PJ as a forward. Miller, PJ, and Newton all tall timbre in the forward 50, this is a real chance for for all of them and Sylvia to have an impact.

My concern is our midfield, or lack of it.

I thought P Johnson was out for the year?

'either PJ hasn't had hip op yet or his name has been mixed up with Whitey who's name appears in the outs

Carroll was shopped around last year and other Clubs laughed. Carroll will be gracing our list in 2009.

Yze is finished as a footballer and we need to look forward not backward.

Lets hope with Newton we get better effort.

White has injured a knee- interesting...he would have been axed anyway.

Thought Petterd might have been given a run this week. I guess they're gonna leave him at Sandy for the rest of the year to gain some game time without the high-risk.

Another week, another 3 injuries! CJ is listed as groin, yet the story on the Melbourne site says a knee. "Chris Johnson will unfortunately not take the field, missing Saturday’s match with a slight knee complaint"

Wonder how serious Jeff White's knee is, and thus whether he's played his last game?

What a pity that we'll have dead wood in both Carroll and Meesen clogging up our list next year.

I understand we need to look forward and not backward, a little surprised that DB stated that he would select on form. According to reports, Yze played well again at Sandy, that's all. Not sure how Bell went, must of played well to select him. Anyhow Yze was named Emergency I guess, some reward. ;)

Newton son...time to pull your finger out.

White? I was pretty sure he left the field ok on Friday. Must of been during training surely.

Dunn ill 3 days in advance, that seems odd. He must be either really sick, or they didn't want to just drop him.

Would've liked to see Ricky P., but probably won't again this year

Dunn has been dropped due to there not being a suitable matchup for him as our number 1 tagger... There is no-one left to tag!

Rumour has it that Bailey has actually sent him to Perth hospital to keep an eye on the West Coast midfield.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
