I wont be mad if Green wants to leave.

I would to if I was in his position. So I will back him 100%.

Hes been treated very ordinary by the MFC.

How so??? Cos they didn't rig the B&F so that he won or at least came 2nd to get his bonus?

Should've been given the captaincy even though up until this year he has been found wanting as a leader?

He has been given a fair offer of $1.1 mil over 3 years, by all reports..

what more should the club have done for him? I'm serious, what exactly? give him a foot massage?

HE is the one that wants to leave.

I like Brad Green as a player, and hope he stays at the MFC.

But if he doesn't, and wants to finish his career somewhere else, then good luck to him.

So long as the club receives a fair trade for him, then I don't see the problem.

If it was simply a fact of not liking the club, he would have left long ago!

couldn't of said it better my self

You don't know that, I am not sure if he even knows that......

And I genuinely do think that it comes down to more than the money and longevity of the apparent contract, but as I have said before we are going on public information that is both unfounded and speculative. And as for being treated poorly by the club, well a player that is respected does not hesitate.

Just my opinion of course because I have no more understanding or knowledge than anyone else.

True. But he is the one holding up proceedings.

Make a damn decision already!

& Judd was respected at WCE.

But yes, there is more that goes into his decision. My argument is that he has NOT been mistreated by MFC.

If he HAS, how so?

Pay him more than Bruce for starters.

I said during the week he would end up at Collingwood.

I will stick by that! But I cannot work out a trade.

So if Green is to go, I think Port Adelaide is most suitable to a deal.

Port - Green

Melbourne - Pick 22 and Greg Bentley

I would take that!

Would you?

What about Green to the Pies with pick 17.

We get back 11 and 29?

That will give us 1, 11, 19, 29 & 35.

Or

Kangaroos - Green

Port - Harris

Melbourne - Pick 27 and Bentley

No ones even remotely interested in Harris and we definitely shouldnt be --

Green for Collingwoods picks of 29 and 45 sounds reasonable

Collingwood have offered us 29 and 45

Hawthorn have offered us 34

If if did come down to a trade I dont see Green or Bruce pulling a pick higher than #30.

A touch of realism coming through BB.

For whats being offered I'd rather keep Green. I know what I get with Green. Not a world beater but solid. Picks out past pick 25 are a lottery and I am not sure we enhance our draft position much in the process.

That is a good a deal as I think we could do if he wants to go to Collingwood, Naturally Green and 19 would be better.

We'd have to be careful not to load up on too many picks because i'm not sure that we'll use too many depending on what happens with Aussie and Valenti.

never thought id agree with yze magic but yes he has been very poorly treated. i rate him as our only a grade player. should have won B&F, should have been captain this year, and was haggled over a 3 year contract, despite having never had any real injury concerns.

Unlike Yze, before he signed his generous 3 year retirement package, he had only played about 180 straight. <_<

Brad may feel unloved but the club MUST stop handing out contracts like the ones that got us into this mess. People complain we're paying 100% of the salary cap for a spoon then whinge that the club isn't paying enough to an average footballer at best. The fact that Brad is even considered for the captaincy says more about the state of our list than his leadership ability. The players obviously don't consider him a leader but people on here with no idea of the dynamics of the team declare him a monty for the role.

Greem had a great year last year.

By my reckoning that would be his first. And we came 16th.

And whenever it's got hard in the past, Mr Green, along with Mr Johnstone were the first to go missing.

It's 3 year deals such as this which explain why we are at 100% TPP and 16th

This with your head, not with your heart,

I don't see many bad guys in this fellas and shielas.

We have offered him nearly half a mil a year, we did our due diligence in trying to make it only two.

Brad has looked at what is out there in terms of achieveing a premiership.

No-one has said anything that will burn the chance of him coming back to the club and he hasn't said a peep.

I have been adamant about trying to get a top 20 pick for Green but if we can't get a deal, he ain't gonna leave for nothing with WCE, Freo, and Port waiting in the PSD.

We just need to calm down until Friday 2.05pm.

Green never went missing. The team did. It's a credit to him that he could perform so well this year in a [censored] side with no help. Green's set shot goalkicking ability is the only thing I believe has gone missing. He is not a natural leader, in fact any sort of leader. He would be pretty handy at Collinw&%$ or Sydney where he would never be looked upon as one of the best players, or a leader. His courage, marking, and raking left foot would be very handy in one of those sides.

He could never be handy at MFC because he simply does not fit into the 'premiership window', whatever the F&%$ that means. Also, everyone knows that all first and second round draft picks become top 5 performers in all AFL clubs who get them, and if you can snare a PSD, well, polish up the silverware, sunshine.!

By the way, it's not 3 year deals that caused 100% tpp. It's the way they've been applied, and to whom. Our footy department never heard of forward loaded contracts.

Don't blame Green, just give him to Collinw&%$ and see whether they or us win a premiership first.

If he doesn't want to go to Sydney, why would he go into the PSD where he could find himself in the West or SA?

I am pretty confident he will re-sign if a reasonable deal is not done.

Hope you're right Jerry......

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
