Just wondering if anyone saw any response anywhere from Andy "Not a Footballers A#@hole, So I WIll Take Over The League" Demetriou about;

1 - The Walk and the numbers of MFC supporters who participated, and

2 - The crowd at Sundays game, especially the large amout of MFC supporters there?

Cheers,

Moose

The Fonz was on SEN this morning, and when asked if he was satisfied with the crowd on Monday said 'No, I wasnt, I expected 70,000 given the celebrations of the 150th etc etc'

He said the League would look at whether the Demons got a Queens birthday game again next year, but applauded Collingwood for offering it to us as a home game each year.

The longer his tenure as CEO has gone the more tiresome and cantankerous he has become.

I thought it was obvious the AFL was interested in crowd attendances. Vlad's reaction was predictable and consistent.

What staggers me is that the week before at the Coll v WC match on Saturday arvo at the MCG on a glorious day there was 52,000 people.

Some people are fickle but it is clear that the reasons we didn't get 70,000 were the long weekend, it was showering on and off during morning and maybe even fans were turned off going as they thought it was a no-contest.

The reason the numbers were a bit down is easily explained. Thousands of Wobblies packed their banjos and went "pig shooting " up along the Howqua, probably hoping to bag themselves a Rangey or two !!! ;):rolleyes:

he has an agenda, and that agenda is bring down the MFC to the point where they have to go to Sydney, he is a scumbag and an enemy of the Demons

He is also cited that it was going to be Gardners last game.

His head has well and truly disappeared up the proverbial if he thinks that was going to drag an extra 5000 or so through the gates.

What Demitriou refuses to publicly acknowledge is that crowd attendances are directly related to onfield success . This rule applies almost universally except the interstate derbys and April 25 which abuses the history and spirit of the ANZAC legacy to promote a game of football. His comments regarding our lack of branding is a deliberate attempt to misguide.

AD can, by all means, look at playing alternative teams on the QB Monday. But he needs to know, in advance, who is having a good season before he allocates it. Perhaps this round should remain unassigned until the week before and then he can determine who should play on the Monday.

In my opinion , he doesn't for a second believe what he states publicly about our supporters, our brand and our lack of respect for a departing Chairman by not turning up. By his own admission, the MFC are in the gun. It helps his cause for more interstate teams to keep it this way. If its not the Kangaroos any more, it must be someone else. That's us.

Spot on, "MFC4", but "Vlad" wouldn't know that luke-warm football followers,(....the extra 20%), are put off from going to the footy by the predicted rain, since he's always in plush surrounds eating caviar, and drinking Moet,at the footy. Probably he's never sat out in the rain under a poncho watching his team lose by 15 goals. His team???? I guess he hasn't got one.....so he just doesn't understand.

I hope his budgies turn into emus and kick his dunny door down!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
