Adelaide v Melbourne - Match Thread

We are being crucified by umpires or is it just me being frustrated

I have been frustrated by them too.

Aussie should have been rewarded for his tackle.

Jamar got his back broken by Tippert, and had a free given against him.

Moloney should have been given an in the back near our F50, the ball spills and they kick a goal at the other end.

I don't think we have been as bad as the score indicates. However, our defensive work has been deplorable without Rivers holding the unit together.

ADELAIDE 13.12.90

MELBOURNE 6.6.42

I mean, seriously, anyone who said anything remotely like "we can win this game" is a complete idiot. We beat Fremantle, not Geelong. We lost this game before it started. I'm cursing I just wasted 20 minutes of my time in Tokyo watching this tripe. Valenti is good though.

right now, its just a matter putting respect back on the scoreboard.

This has deteriorated in to utter rubbish, we can barely get a clean possession.

Is Adelaide just some weird back hole of football for the Melbourne F C.

Why is it we cannot at least look competitive over there? One of the major issues I thought the new coach had was getting us to not [censored] ourselves when we face a hostile crowd, especially in Adelaide.

Why is it we can beat them at our lowest ebb last year at the 'G but no matter what we are doing, we travel over there and get bent over?

Morton 3 goals is a good sign so far.

We are a pathetic rabble. We play one good quarter and it all goes down hill from there. We don't even try to look competitive, and our efforts at clearing the ball out of the backline are quite frankly embarrassing.

And that Cameron Bruce, our captain and one of the highest paid players in the team can't kick an easy goal, is an absolute disgrace.

Oh and has Buckley hit a single target today?

Thank god for Aussie and Morton.

Going by the stats it looks as though Jamar is having his usual influence?

And going by the free kick count of 19-8 in favour of the Crows it looks like the maggots are having their usual influence too (although I don't suggest the result would be any different)!

Why don't we get home town decisions like some of these interstate clubs get?

mclean and jonesgetting smashed in the midfield, green and moloney trying atleast, too fuckin loose all day, man up you twats

Apologies for the unashamed promotion of the function :lol::lol:

thats 4 now :))

Burton, that's almost mark of the year sewn up right there

How Buckley is getting a game ahead of the likes of Dunn, is beyond me. He is terrible, simply terrible.

We lie down easier than a prostitute on a Saturday night. Pathetic!

The pain will soon be over !!:rolleyes:

anyone know why we're not wearing our clash strip today? would've thought we have a pretty bad clash with the crows...

Melbourne next 4 games

Hawthorn - MCG St kilda TD- Collingwood MCG - richmond- TD

Jamar: one possession

and a very dodgy handball at that.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
