What do you want to happen to our season from here?

The only time the Ablett brothers got mentioned was when they started to play well. Just because they are pick number 1 doesn't mean they will work in your team.

No idea what you're trying to say but I'll take a punt...Ablett wasn't the only good player they received through father/son selections...

What you're saying regarding the 1st pick is true however in a season where we obviously aren't going to play finals I'd prefer to get the most out of it. If you look at the most recent number 1 picks Kreuzer, Gibbs, Murphy, Deledio etc, all of them are very talented kids and would all be in the top 5 in out current team. It's not just the Nov draft though, if we have first pick in the psd then we'll have a very handy weapon when it comes to trying to lure a player from another team. We'll have a couple of retirements at the end of the year so we'll have some cash to spend.

What i meant about the Ablett bros was that just coz they are the son of a former player doesn't mean they will be talented, or adapt to your game plan well.

I don't think Geelong is really talented, just trained well as a team with a few shinging stars. That sounds like most teams. They play for each other and most weeks (all so far this year) it has worked for them, any team, moderatly talented, can dominate the competition if you are working together like Geelong are.

Geelong are a very good team that work hard for each other, but they have stars all over the ground. These 'stars' include several players picked up through father/son selections thus negating the need for Geelong to bottom out and receive pp's which was the original topic.

I don't want Naitanui on our list.

I couldn't stand having yet another player on our list none of the supporters can spell.

Wonaeamirri

Petterd

Moloney

Robertson

Davey

Miller (yes, some spell it Millar)

is enough.

Millar is actually a fairly common variation of the name Miller, same for Maloney/Moloney. I agree though, it annoys the buggery out of me to.

It's going to take Minimum 3 years to get to the top 2 on the ladder. I want to shoot then for a Premiership, nothing less.

Any gun players we may aquire now, need to be NO MORE than 26 - 27 years of age at that time to give us 2/3 good years at their prime. So there is no way that I want us to recruit anyone older than 24 years.

In saying that my preferance is to get the kids from the early rounds.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
