  1. Past hour
  2. You still have three votes left. Fire away mate!
  3. Theses commentators get seduced by pretty football, they'd rather see a 40 goal Shoot out than a tough defensive contest.
  4. Today
  5. Yes saw this on First Crack, I liked King's call, defensive p0rn, it is pure s3x, so well drilled they could take part in the Edinburgh tattoo. Anyone who doesn't take us seriously honestly is just demonstrating their own insecurities. I thought we were a few straight kicks away from '21 finals style Boomshakalaka. We are going to get haters, we are scary. I also liked May's IV when he said he knows we are going well if Langdons getting alot of the ball. Just quietly I felt like last night demonstrated that the coaching team is humming as well. Stats are honestly the crutch of many feeble minded scribes, they tell you what happend but rarely why. I say this because it is rote for media to roll out Melbourne is defensively strong, best last 4 years blah blah, the 'what', but what I look at, is the number of defenders that have rolled through (see below). To my recall it has been 18 players who have rolled through and they have consistently adhered to a system, that has rarely broken down. That shows strong coaching and culture, this is the 'why', few commentators are willing to engage with. Wilson, Purple, Cornes, etc just don't have the bandwidth. Every club is trying to do what we do, very few are close but those who are too dumb to articulate 'why' we are good, are scared of us, we are the monster under the bed, the bump in the night, so they denigrate our coach, team and culture. That's ok we are coming for their club. Feel free to amend anyone missing from the Men's department: May Lever Petty Brayshaw Salem Jetta Tomlinson Howes Hore Turner Rivers McVee Bowey McDonald x 2 Woewodin Hibberd Hunt Wagner
  6. I would have thought playing off in a granny isn't a bad result. Especially how they are so bad 🤣. You can't have it both ways 💣.
  7. I have a feeling this won't win goal of the year due to the perception of it being a bit arsey (see Clarry at Adelaide Oval). Yet, I attended a high school next to Footy Park in the (ahem) mid-90s. Remember riding home from school one day and stopping to watch the Crows forwards practicing the dribble-turn kick from the pocket for at least half an hour. A genuine AFL skill.
  8. Kyah Faris-White played his first game with St Bedes Mentone in the VAFA on Saturday. They lost to Old Haileybury by 53 points with KFW featuring in the best players and kicking a goal. St Bedes Mentone Best Zac Calvez, Matthew Lehpamer, Josh Cowan, Benjamin Murphy, Jack Ferraro, Kyah Farris-White. Meanwhile, Old Haileybury’s Casey list ruckman Jack Bell was picked to play for the Demons but saw vey little action.
  9. Was our game plan that we saw on Sat night adjusted for the Cats or was it an example of the new direction we are heading?
  10. Watching the replay repeatedly you also grasp what a great moment Petty had there. Read it and reacted instantly then absolutely pounded the grass flat to make the distance to spoil that pass. A little cherry on top of a great (touch-wood) return to form.
  11. what the bloods are doing is getting themselves into a position where they'll play at the scg twice in september they're going be there or thereabouts at the pointy end, you would expect
  12. 6.Lever 5. May 4. Oliver 3. Gawn 2. Windsor 1. Petty
  13. Thought I’d post this cracking behind the goals image of our defensive wall stopping the ball coming out of our forward 50. Good luck getting it out of there with 5 defenders in a wall as the first line and then May and Lever supporting line. Looks like the footy version of some ancient Roman battle formation.
  14. They have a very deep and talented midfield. That goes a long way to winning a flag, but it’s still very early days with much water to go under the bridge.
  15. They're just not popping in my head when I think of contenders. Can't figure out why...
  16. I'm on record saying in an ideal world I'd refresh the squad with a number of changes, but given the available options are Laurie, Hore, maybe Bowey, maybe Schache if not injured, maybe BBB, maybe Hunter after playing half a VFL game (and not well) I don't expect to see much change. I'm far from a Billings fan, but Windsor is right on the limit at about 78% game time and we're seeing a much better Ed Langdon this year limiting him to about 90% rather than pushing him to close to full games. And I'm liking a look at Ed at half forward every now and then for a change. Nibbler can fill in, but he's so vital for the way he stretches the ground end to end from half forward. So there's 30% or so game time for a 3rd winger and in that role Billings is at least competent in getting to the right spots. As frustrating as he is and also knowing he's a likely sub out candidate most weeks he still fits the mold of a forward/wing hybrid player which we really need.
  17. And what is even more bizarre is tge previous Casey game was Wednesday arvo ten days days ago.
  18. Just like every other week, you’re among friends here, No. 31. That is, up until late Thursday night, at which time it depends on the result. 😉
  19. Blues will want to try and make it a shoot out. Deny them the corridor and it goes a long way to stopping them. We should have a very light week on the track.
  20. No. But I watched the first 10 mins of the third quarter and I think they set a world record for repeating the word fatigue!
  21. I love how they ignore that crucial fact. And fail to consider it. Combined with the fact we only lost both 2023 finals by one kick.
  22. Maybe it's just me. Is this a female thing? 🤮
  23. Which is almost exactly what Goodwin said today when interviewed on the abc footy show when asked for the millionth time about our forward line and going out in straight sets. Good interview actually, but he couldn't hide his annoyance. Goody made the point that you work all year to have a shot, we were were in 'great shape' but luck plays a huge part and we lost our forward line 2 weeks out of finals. We just don't have a sexy game and people either don't understand it, think football is only about offence - elite defence be damned - or are clueless.
  24. It's also noticeable that the Cats played very tightly along the boundary a number of times, probanly bevause we denied them central areas often. If Rivers goes too corridor, it allows Geelong the space boundary side to potentially run and carry, and get a dangerous entry.
  25. A shame for them that they don’t hand out premierships at the start of May
  26. I would say it is a 50/50 prospect myself. I think Demonland is going to be a lonely place for me this week 😁
