How do you do a poll 'Stone? I tried to do one a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find the 'poll' option or any such thing. Cheers, Roger the Dense

Lloydy's 2022 Mid-Season Top 20
I wondered if it was just me, but I only ever read the articles of interest on the AFL website. I could think of nothing worse than listening to or watching endless podcasts/videos of AFL journos.

TEAMS: Rd 12 vs Sydney
One of the umpires is No. 26 (Fleer or Freer or something). While I generally don't get as upset these days by umpires, IIRC, that guy has prompted me to throw bricks through the TV screen in the past. Other than that, Bedford is stiff. If Rivers needs a rest, I wouldn't be surprised to see him as sub rather than running around in the two's. Bedford needs a bit of continuity.

The Search for the Next AFL CEO
"AFL Appoints US company...." How utterly pathetic

Simon Goodwin on SEN (30/5/22)
It's called Lay Day or something. I've had it once. For instant coffee it's excellent and I would definitely take it bushwalking where weight and space is at a premium. It's very expensive though. I haven't bought instant coffee for decades, so not sure the relative cost.

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Watching Casey, Rosman is much improved, but I'd still have Turner ahead of him (not sure if Turner is match fit after injury yet). Out: Melksham, Weid, Dunstan, May In: Harmes/Chandler, TMac, Langdon, Tommo,

How did you cope for so long without dumping on the Dees? You must be in heaven now.

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2022
I agree with the need for a developing ruckman and would add that Max Ramsden descends from George 'Podge' Ramsden, who played for the mighty Fushcias (?) in the 1890's. I'd love to get him on board....but can't see it happening without a Great-great-great grandfather-son rule or thereabouts.

Didn't See That Coming (In a good way)
Patrick Ryder tonight was asked during 'On The Couch,' who were the best three ruckmen in the comp (currently). His response was 'The two Melbourne boys' followed by himself. I expected Max to be named at No. 1, but I sure as hell didn't expect Dogga at 2 (or vice versa for that matter)! 🔫 🔫 Lyon later mentioned that Gawn still rates Ryder as the best centre square ruckman in the comp!

I think it's the office of doom and gloom

Petracca’s goalkicking
IIRC his goal kicking stank in 2019 or 2020 or both as well. I attributed the drastic improvement mainly to Choco. Not sure what's happened this time around but he's gone backwards at a rate of knots. It might be the knee issue but hopefully he'll get on top of it by finals.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I did have a bit of a look. It was an interesting game. The Suns have a lot of talent running around in the twos. Andrew was OK but didn't entertain the idea of getting out of a trot the whole game. Still rake thin. Of the other players, the ruckman, Moyle looked good as did Hollands, Sharp and a host of others. I'd happily take a handful of reserves players off their hands. Curiously, Footscray's Darcy, lined up as a key defender.

My 3 word player analysis v Nth Melbourne
Brayshaw - had a stinker Brown - had a stinker Gawn - had a stinker All three had worst games for 2022 so glad that's behind them.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
Happy for Melksham to get to 200 BUT not versus Freo. Out: Dunstan, Melksham and potentially Langdon (inj) In Viney, Laurie/Bedford and potentially Salem with Gus to Langdon's wing for the week

FIXTURE: Rounds 16 to 19
I wonder if we'd lost the grand final, would we get 16 FTA, 10 Thursday/Friday night games and no twilight games like the Bulldogs? Lucky we're premiers so we can capitalise on all these twilight games! The marketing department must think all their Christmas's have come at once.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs West Coast
I'm not fussed if sore players are 'managed.' Lever might be better off missing the long flight with his corky and Jordon was definitely hobbling all last quarter. I'm sure he'd be right for the game though if it's not a short turnaround.

VOTES : Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Agree, his defensive efforts and 1 %ers were huge and still took the game on. 6 Gawn 5 Petracca 4 Clarrie 3 Viney 2 May 1 Hunt Stiff: Brayshaw, Bowey, Bedford

Farewell Luke Jackson
Really? I would've thought any team would trample over Tim English to get Jackson.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Agree! At the start of the game, with all the lethargy, I thought half the team looked like they had Covid or the flu (much to my horror). There wasn't a whole lot of pressure in the midfield, but they seemed to get rolling later in the quarter (phew) I'll take that win any day.

How the Rift between Woewodin & the Dees was Healed
Listened to the podcast. As supporters, we really only got the club's side of the story at the time. It sounds like Neale was caught in the middle on this one, and it doesn't cover the club (board) in glory. It's sad it took so long to heal the rift, but I,m glad he's back on board. It's worth a listen before shooting your mouth off about how greedy you think he was. Taj was a Dee from the get go and it's his dream come to true to be drafted by us.
