Roger Mellie is inspired by 'Roger Mellie the Man on the Telly' a character from Viz magazine. 30 years ago I thought it (the magazine more so than the RM character) was pretty funny, not so much now. I probably should change my name, but I wouldn't want other posters to lose sleep over where Roger went.
Personally, I would like Josh Schacke to turn into Tom Lynch (of the Toig variety). If that was the case and JVR stuck around, our forward line future looks a lot brighter. Failing that, I'd like Tom Sparrow to put his stamp on the game. I realise it's hard to barge into the middle when you've got Clarry, Trac and Viney in there, but I'd like to see him start making more of an impact (acknowledging he does do an important support role).

Lol, there's a podcast on the AFL site asking whether Lyon will bring in his mate SOS to help out. SOS could bring the Carlton rejects over to the Saints - Dow, Stocker, Setterfield. Brilliant!

I'm a big Lou Reed fan too. I had a crack at Raymond Carver 20 years ago or so. Maybe I've grown up enough to try again, maybe not. It might be just me, but having seen Van Morrison both here and abroad - what a grump! I'm not there for an intimate experience with the muso, but FFS, he could at least say hello. My simple and biggest lesson from the Patrick White Diaries is don't. It's really quite deflating and I immediately had no further interest in reading/rereading any his novels. So enjoy them for what they are! Anyway, back to the humour that is St Kilda!

What are your thoughts on him dazzle? I vaguely recall you had some good things to say about him earlier in the year. One of the phantom drafts likens him to Toby Greene.
