  1. What an appalling display of umpiring. It was actually a great contest until ruined by the umpires in their determination to get Carlton over the line. The commentary was comical too. It's reasonable to call out poor decisions without sinking the boots into the umpires, but there was nothing. In this case, the boots should have been well and truly sunk in as they were clearly shifting the momentum of the game away from North. Good on them for battling on despite the obvious bias.
  2. The AFL wanted a game to go up against the Grand Prix and expected a weaker attendance. They said as much on ABC radio. We drew the short straw unfortunately.
  3. Tough week at the selection table! Pickett in is a given and JVR will def get a gig with his home crowd. Brown stays in unless injured and, if he is, Koz for him. I wouldn't be bringing TMac in as a like-for-like. He's just not doing enough. We can run with JVR, Fritsch and Petty up forward, plus or minus Brown. If Brown is out then Kozzie replaces him, if not, Sparrow or sadly and undeservedly, Jordon (because Sparrow doesn't get dropped). Sparrow as sub works for me.
  4. Greetings All, I'm back from my wander and am happy to spill the beans. The team I listed share initials with the 2021 magnificent demon premiership team. Eg. Mitch Hahn = Michael Hibberd, JVR = Jack Viney, Michael Gardiner = Max Gawn etc etc. Congrats to Timothy and Tilly
  5. 6 Clarrie 5 Grundy 4 Petracca 3 Rivers 2 Langdon 1 Hunter Stiff: Lever, Jordon, Hibbo, Chandler, Mc Vee, May, Spargo & JVR Great team win!
  6. Knock yourself out Blew. I'm bushwalking in WA and have intermittent internet access. Initially, I was going to drop a few more clues but I think the footy got in the way. Gosh dern it - there's another clue! TRAB will take it from here with thanks.
  7. Who did McVee's? Nathan Carroll? lol
  8. Luke Bracey
  9. Jeez I'm glad we didn't get Jack Martin. What a fraud.
  10. ^ This, but I, unfortunately, live near Geelong, so either way will be insufferable
  11. Congrats to McDee and Bill! I like Lawrie's smarts and think/hope he can add something - I loved that tap forward in the first quarter before he got smashed by a Toig last week. One negative from his taste of AFL, was the number of frees he gave away. I don't think that'll happen this week - he'll adjust and apply pressure. Smart, talented player - just not sure where he fits yet. Judd McDee hasn't put a foot wrong and deserves his shot. I love his ball focus in the contest to stop his opponent getting it. Not frothing at the mouth just yet at the potential absence of May, but maybe tomorrow.
  12. Or Schache for a bit more cover in defense if needed
  13. Silver and bronze still up for grabs! Tim has kindly pointed out a clue in the first post 😬 Further clue: Sub: Jason Johannisen
  14. I hope so tox, but if he's not really kicking the footy yet... no so sure
  15. Congratulations to @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew for claiming first prize 🏆 🥳. PS it's also not private school attendees, olympic medallists or cricketers. There'll be a ridgy didge clue later if needed.
  16. In no particular order: Oliver Flower Farmer Lyon Petracca
  17. Unfortunately, they then play North, WCE, Adelaide and GCS. They could conceivably start the season 5 - 0 🤮. Hopefully, the sky will fall in with Adelaide, GCS or the Dogs and Lions after that.
  18. WCW, there was, in fact, a tiny clue there, but it was so small, I hadn't noticed. Good luck and it's not boxers or anything to do with music.
  19. Thanks TRAB! I'm honoured to be part of the club, but there are definitely no single or double-bluffing clues. I can even confess, the bench is nothing more than a typo - should be I/C not !/C. Go Dees
  20. You know the drill. If someone gets this quicker than the time it took me to put together, I just might lie about it. Funnily enough, these players have something in common. My apologies if this (theme) has been done before! PM the answers (this means you Lampers). The prizes are phenomenal.............. and fictitious! On ya bike and bring on season 2023: Mitch Hahn Stef Martin Jay Lockhart Chris Scott Henry Playfair Ted Richards Adrian Battiston. Jacob van Rooyan Ed Lower Tyson Stengle Tim Membrey Jayden Hunt Aaron Naughton. Brendon Favola Billy Brownless R: Michael Gardiner Cam Pedersen Cam O'Shea !/C Callam Sinclair Liam Jurrah Jarrod Berry Kayne Pettifer PS - There's no clue in any of the above, hence the name 'clueless quiz'
  21. IIRC, he had some role at or link to MFC (can someone enlighten on this?) but this ended when he was found to be leaking info about the club - MFC supporter and all! Top bloke!
  22. The AFL website has listed all the club's leadership groups including ins and outs. https://www.afl.com.au/news/880565/who-s-in-who-s-out-your-club-s-captains-leadership-group-for-2023 As per usual, only Gawn and Viney are listed for us. Last year in the Gus & Gawny Podcast, there was often reference to our leadership group, although the group was never listed. All I could glean was that Brayshaw and ANB were in it although I assume Lever would be there too. Anyone know what this year's is (or last year's for that matter)? It seems to be a very in-house thing.
  23. They've all got something to do with 'Stones favourite record, book or film collection.
