Barrier draw commencing shortly. Really liked the run of Marmelo in the Caulfield cup and looks better suited over 3200m.

Nice work. The quaddie dividend surprised me as well. I cost myself by leaving out Ace High, almost as inexcusable as our Rd 23 performance. Huge win. You would have thought I jumped on this thread for a reason. I liked Tom Melbourne today and ProperDee talked up Shillelagh so I took the quinella. Happy to end up in front on Derby day.

If nothing works for any of you today maybe this article can bring the fellas some luck. https://www.google.com.au/amp/m.huffingtonpost.com.au/amp/2017/11/02/tiberian-the-worlds-most-unlikely-melbourne-cup-horse-came-from-caesar-the-teaser-pony_a_23265188/

Sorry mate, I didn't mean to sound like I had full ownership in one of my previous posts, I was only involved in a small percentage of a broodmare and inherited the same percentage in all her foals. Problem was the syndicate manager took her to stud every year for 6 years and the costs were too high in the end. Your not wrong about needing luck just to break even.

Main Stage in the Derby is part owned by Dusty and a few other Richmond boys. I won't be backing it because I don't do Richmond well but everything they touch has turned to gold this year especially Mr Main Stage himself.

Cheers Macca, Derby day is my favourite and like you mentioned best betting day on the calendar. I owned a few horses myself but sold out about two years ago. A friend in Sydney stayed in and needless to say those horses ended up multiple city winners. He gets some tips from the Waterhouse camp but no success lately. ProperDee mentioned horses that have finished top two in their most recent starts figure prominently and that's a pattern I have followed lately. I can't wait for the tribe to go to bed tonight, a lot of reading to do.

Hi, I'm a bit late to the party and just started discovering other threads. I thoroughly enjoy horse racing especially this time of year and I'm looking forward to future discussions and thoughts from you.

Just in case there was any danger of the OX getting back to his best after his first knee reconstruction, himself and the club were punished with a further two. Shame, another super talent hindered by injury. In saying that he bled for the club, became a club champion and flew the flag in the 2000 grand final battering of his younger teammates. Wouldn't we all love to see a junior Ox running around in the red and blue even if he produces half the goods his father did.

I like the way you think. It means we at least see one final.

Out of the "24 must watch games" Carlton is listed 4 times. Geelong vs Carlton at the Cattery is another. The article is one of opinion though but FMD!

I think he might be the reason we got one.

Thanks for mentioning “The Fall”. Into season 2 and thoroughly enjoying it.

Two players putting in the hard yards during the off season, fantastic to see. Hopefully it pays dividends for young Dion.

Trying to do the math from the article and it seems we have a Saturday game in round 4. We get a decent break going into the Anzac Eve clash but it will be interesting to see our player management heading into the Dons game on such a short turnaround.
-
Totally with you on this. Max was good in his first game back against West Coast and was just about the only bloke trying to get us back into the game against GWS in Canberra. Wouldn't label him pathetic, as the good Dr suggests.

Port the big winners in Trade Week?

Over to you Mr Watts. -
Comments by PJ on Watts and Lever have basically been covered by many posters here. It was interesting to hear we might be looking for new HQ around the CBD and sounds like we might have a home game round 1 against a Victorian club.

I asked a fellow Dee at work the other day what he thought of the Watts trade. He responded by calling all supporters mushrooms. I asked "huh?" He responds " You know, kept in the dark and fed crap!" So true.

Thought it was a productive post-Morton.

Thank you for stating the obvious and feel free to invite the recruiters on here to post their plans. Any info posted by fellow demonlanders on the TAC cup and the youngsters hoping for an AFL career is greatly appreciated for people like myself that aren't familiar with the system. There is a simple solution for you though if you don't want to read about it.

I think GC just had to bite the bullet on that one in my opinion. Dont get me wrong, they are possibly giving up one of the best 18 year olds in the country but do they really lose out? They've been bitten on the backside with some of their high picks for one reason or another and that club seems in serious trouble and when a 21 year old contracted player with a bright future requests a trade to their club i just think their FD did what it needed to do. Time will tell I guess.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Dee Zephyr replied to stevethemanjordan's topic in Melbourne Demons
When is Lever back from Europe? Bring on his first interview with Burgo already!!
