  1. Demons co-captain hopeful of facing Cats in round 1. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-01-12/cautious-viney-still-weeks-from-full-training Apologies if this has been posted already.
  2. Angus Brayshaw. Hopefully we get a full season out of this kid so he can showcase his potential.
  3. Funny you mention the Crows game, I watched the highlights of that game today and that was a huge goal he kicked from the pocket in the second quarter. Bobbed up for another also. He has an ability to find space, has a good leap and his defensive efforts are pretty good. Someone posted a pic of their TV after the QB clash pointing out a 50 metre chase by Bugg that thwarted a Pies attack at a crucial stage in the last.
  4. Exactly DemonOx, I spoke to them directly on the phone back in October and I could hear the person typing on the computer when I was requesting which player is to go with each name. Therefore, you would assume the information was entered correctly at that point in time. When I called them about the mistake, they took the names again, threw me the sorry line and advised me the cards will be posted again. Being a week or so before Christmas there was no chance I was receiving their cards by Christmas.
  5. It was disappointing. I spoke to someone from the membership department via phone in regards to customising the kids cards back in October, it would have been nice for them to receive the cards with their favourite players on there in time for Christmas. I did receive a "sorry about that" though.
  6. No scarf here either with the pack and they sent me the wrong membership cards for the kids.
  7. This doesn't look good for him. Sounds like he's coming from a long way back. Having a look at him prior to Christmas, it looked like he struggled to maintain muscle during his rehab. Here's wishing he makes it back and soon.
  8. The Brisbane winter carnival is one my favourites. I lived in Brisbane from 2011-14 and would frequent the local on Saturdays to watch the Dees with the races in the background. With our performances during that time it wasn't hard to turn your attention to the races. I attended Stradbroke Handicap Day one year whilst up there. It was a great day out with many quality horses running. Best part was you didn't have to push through 100,000 people to get to a bar.
  9. I enjoy having a flutter during the carnivals and will do as much study as possible. I tend to mix it up during those times with quinellas, trifectas and first fours. I will back a horse to win if I believe it's overs in the betting. I finished slightly in front during the spring. I haven't had much success after the carnival but no great damage done either. This time of the year I rely on a work colleague for tips, he has a horse with the Weir stable and gets some good word on horses, especially mid-week. The fields aren't as strong and you get some decent value for runners. I was going to share a tip yesterday on here but the Mornington meeting was called off. The horse is Von Richter, I'll see if it's worth following next run. I'll always have a small bet on the Zephyr when and where he runs and I've been following your selections lately for races you mention. I'll invest a small amount with a small combination to boost the percentage, today the 7 split me and I missed out on the tri. Silly me, in hindsight I could've taken your top selections for 1st and added the 7 and 8 for second and third. I look forward to your Magic Millions selections, it's usually a great racing day. There is a $242,000 Maiden Plate on the day with $142,500 for first. Not bad for a first time winner compared to the horses that slug it out in $15,000 maidens around the country.
  10. Hi Macca, once again spot on with your selections. I hope you got some kind of return with the right combination. The 7 was showing $62 on the tote at the jump.
  11. Phew, I felt all alone on that one as well....
  12. Jonesy wants a decent write up. Most players are sitting poolside sipping cocktails and our co-captain is doing this during the break.
  13. They will fill the 3pm - 6pm time slot. It will be called " KB and the Doc". I posted the wrong time slot earlier.
  14. KB will be on from 12pm - 3pm with Dr Turf. Sorry, from 3pm to 6pm.
  15. Yes it was, got stuck behind some traffic, hemmed in at stages and when a run presented, it finished off like a train and missed by centimetres. I thought the trifecta paid ok considering 2 favourites filled the top 2 spots. If they bring Pounamu here I will be jumping on the bandwagon. Always a great story when there's a family involvement and Ms L Warwicks' post race interview was a good one too. ‘’I was out in front a long time by myself – it’s a massive straight.’’ She said things were ‘real quiet’ but she kept telling herself that ‘no, he’s coming’.
  16. Terrific finish to the Cup Macca, couldn't be any closer. Once again your selections filled the places. Pounamu can certainly chase hard.
  17. Our coach made his resolution for 2018. Come on Demonlanders, make us laugh for one last time in 2017. What's your resolution on Demonland for 2018? Happy New Year everyone! (Source AFL site) Simon Goodwin (Melbourne) Pour concrete in the players' drink bottles to harden them up. First, they blew their chance to break an 11-year finals drought, and then they wussed out of a pre-season boot camp. 'Blighty' wouldn’t have taken it as well as I have. But times have changed and I consider myself a SNAC (Sensitive New Age Coach). I just hope the boys don't become SNAPs (Sensitive New Age Players) on the field.
  18. Yeah, it's been a decent prep. I think his best is behind him but we shall see where they go from here with him. A winless year for the Zephyr, now we move on to Doomben for the rest of the day.
  19. No good again, disappointing run in the end. The winner just played with them.
  20. Belated update, the Zephyr is in good order, track is playing evenly. Hoping for 1 out 1 back sit during the run and a long overdue win.
  21. Agree with you Macca, I've also come up with Ozi Choice and Thelburg as my top 2. After the claims they both meet Dan better at the weights again. An interesting runner according to the market is Lite'n In My Veins. Former WA horse and didn't really flatter in two spring runs but he was contesting group and listed races over in the West.
  22. Waiting for the latest as we speak, I know connections are happy to have the "Dee" on board. As far I know they will push forward again but unsure if they will lead with him at this stage. Hopefully I have some news soon.
  23. Spot on Macca, the "Dee" rode him to 3 wins in a row in the early part of 2016. The horse was red hot back then. Lets see if he can recapture some of that form on Saturday. I'll also be concentrating on the multiples for that race. He will add some value if he lands in the first 4.
  24. Thanks Macca, Dan is running on Saturday. https://www.racenet.com.au/racing-form-guide/sandown-20171230/ladbrokes-info-hub-handicap-race-6 Michael Dee to ride, he's had success on the horse previously and comes in at 54kg. Juicy odds at the moment.
