  1. Good bet???? To win $700....
  2. Nice to have options at this time of the year. If they do bring in Smith to allow Fritsch up the ground can you see Hannan getting selected also?
  3. Interestingly, Ben Guthrie’s opinion is we will bring in an extra defender in J Smith and JKH the unlucky one to miss.
  4. The key for me is scoreboard pressure and especially early in the game. In round 1, they outscored us by 37 points in a 28 minute first half patch. They did it again by outscoring us by 25 points in the last term in our recent after the siren loss. Their leaders will know they can come at us again if we don’t take our chances. I’d prefer to see their heads drop early by making the most of our forward entries rather than them hanging around like a bad smell. Our game style should hold up Friday night and we should have ample forward entries to kick a big enough score. If our recent match against them is replicated where we do lead by 3-4 goals in the second half, it will be interesting to see how Goody and Co implement a plan to not allow them back in the game.
  5. You can picture these ambassadors with their first pick. Scott Pendlebury: I’ll take Clayton Oliver thanks.

  7. When the Saints go marching in. $800,000 a year for 5 years reportedly and apparently that kind of money is in the top 3% to 4% in the league. Is this a ploy to price Norf out of Gaff? https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/09/03/saints-have-offered-polec-usd800k-in-big-twist-rehn This is entering la la land.

  9. Listed at 177cm and 82Kg. I don’t know much about him apart from seeing him for Williamstown a few times this year and to me he was ultra impressive in their win against Richmond in the Qualifying Final on Saturday night. He was on fire in the second quarter kicking 3 goals including a freakish goal with the outside of his boot from about 40 out. Will turn 21 later this year and I read a few clubs were looking at him ahead of the 2017 draft. Seems like a good reader of the play and certainly showed some great goal sense in the win against Richmond. Does anyone know more about Schultz and is he worth a look?
  10. Does anyone know if the AFL chooses an x amount of umpires for the finals series based on performance or do they have a full list available?
  11. Wouldn’t mind having Rodan as one of the goal umps and seeing him give a cheeky grin for each of our 20 goals.
  12. Must admit, I’ve been relaxed all week....until this. 5 more sleeps to go.

Count me in for the tipping @Macca I’ve been out of touch with the NFL the last few years so I’ll do a bit of refreshing in the next few days and then enter my tips. I don’t want to be that bloke holding up the leaderboard.
  14. College Football has commenced this weekend. I don’t mind indulging in a 3-4 leg multi over any given weekend consisting only that of ranked teams and line betting only. The top 25 are ranked and those rankings change weekly depending on results over the previous weekend. Some of the lines set might seem like a little over the top but as we know the bookies get things right most of the time. Some of the ranked teams might play against weak and unranked colleges and I’d rather hedge my bet with a highly ranked team. Here’s how Week 1 has fared so far with the Top 25 teams covering or not covering the line. There’s no written rule that you have to take the favourite at the line, it’s just my preference. Number before team denotes ranking and A or H denotes home or away. (21) (A) UCF 56 v UCONN 17 Line UCF -23.5 ✔️ (11) (H) Michigan State 38 v Utah State 31 Line Mich.St. -0.5✔️ (4) (H) Wisconsin 34 v W Kentucky 3 Line Wisconsin -36.5 ✖️ (13) (H) Stanford 31 v San Diego State 10 Line Stanford -14 ✔️ (5) (H) OSU 77 v Oregon State 31 Line OSU -39✔️ (23) (A) Texas 29 v Maryland 34 Line Texas -13.5✖️ (7) (H) Oklahoma 63 v FAU 14 Line Oklahoma -18.5✔️ (16) (H) TCU 55 v Southern 7 Line TCU -50✖️ (2) (H) Clemson 48 v Furman 7 Line Clemson -50.5✖️ (6) (A) Washington 16 v (9) Auburn 21 Line Auburn -1.5✔️ (3) (H) Georgia 45 v Austin Peay 0 Line Georgia -48✖️ (17) (A) WVU 40 v Tennessee 14 Line WVU -10✔️ (10) (H) PSU 45 v App State 38 Overtime. Line PSU -24.5✖️ (15) (H) USC 43 v UNLV 21 Line USC - 26.5✖️ (22) (A) Boise State 56 v Troy 20 Line Boise St -10✔️ (18) (H) Miss St 63 v SF Austin 6 Line Miss St -48✔️ (12) (H) Notre Dame 24 v (14) Michigan 17 Line ND -8.5 ✖️ (1) (H) Alabama 51 v Louisville 14 Line Alabama -24✔️ (24) (H) Oregon 58 v Bowling Green 24 Line Oregon -30.5✔️ I like to wait until a few weeks into the season when the rankings become a little more concrete although they do alter, it still gives me a reasonable idea of the stronger colleges. As you can see above, some lines were covered and some not. You might want to avoid the lines set at -30 and above but those teams did give the bigger spread a decent shake. I tend to also avoid ranked colleges playing each other unless I see value in the home team. There was only one noticeable upset with the 23 ranked Texas losing. Sometimes head to head markets aren’t offered in certain games, only line betting. I don’t mind the NCAA Football as something to pass the time by and we all know we needed other interests to get us through the off season in the last decade or so.
  15. Came up with a 4 leg multi for overnight soccer games. I’ve taken 2 the suggested specials. Spurs win/over 2.5 goals and Monaco win/over 2.5 goals into a couple of more games. BELGIAN PRO LEAGUE Cercle Brugge v Gent - Monday 3rd at 02:00 Gent win/over 2.5 match goals. $3.10 ITALIAN SERIE A Lazio v Frosinone - Monday 3rd at 04:30 Lazio win/over 2.5 match goals $1.62
  16. http://vfl.com.au/vfl-recap-finals-week-1-saturday/ Scroll down to the Casey write up.
  17. Don’t forget Cam Guthrie after the Round 1 post match sledge towards Max. Max’s line in reply to a journo still makes me laugh. I don’t need the little paddle-pop lion look-a-like trying to be my friend after the Un-Australian bulltish he pulled,”
  18. Watched Trac today in some of the tackling drills at training and most around us were absolutely gobsmacked by his core strength. It all happens too quickly in a game sometimes to appreciate a player’s unique qualities. Being only 15 or so metres away from that particular drill, it was incredible to watch him brush off tackles from two players at a time with the swiveling of hips and quick lateral movements. Mind you, the drills were with high intensity and players were giving it their all in trying to bring him to ground. Powerful footballer and hope he makes his mark Friday night.
  19. Anyone seen footage of Hannan’s mark? Channel 7 showed a few highlights of the Port v Box Hill game during the Rich v Willy half time break and nothing from the Casey game.
  20. Something really good is brewing down at the Red and Blue. Loved seeing McKenna with a heavily bandaged/iced ankle walk up to the Casey boys after their singing of the song and patting them all on the back.
  21. Well, the first day of the Spring Carnival wasn’t too bad. Some great racing and expected to get better as we near the big ones. Small profit today after backing Unforgotten. A few horses to follow that didn’t salute today from my point of view. Kaepernick Kementari Ace High Kings Will Dream Seabrook Winners from today that could play a massive part in the Spring. Unforgotten Ellicazoom Redzel Interested to read your suggestions.
  22. Up in a few minutes lads. What do we do? Field/Oohood/Field????
