  1. Best Bets Uefa Nations League Tuesday 20th at 06:45 Czech Republic Win v Slovakia - $2.15 Tuesday 20th at 06:45 Bulgaria Win and Over 1.5 match goals v Slovenia- $2.30
  2. I do enjoy the ‘ Best Of’ in the NHL playoffs as it gives the better teams more of an opportunity to progress but I can’t see it working out too well in the AFL for the reasons some have pointed out above. You can picture it being so Melbourne though, starved of success for over half a century and in its first year, bang, 2 GF wins.
  3. Best Bet Sandown Race 8 2 Ventura Storm $6.00

  5. 3 players in the bracket above for the Brownlow, good signs. If anyone is chasing longer odds, the skip is at $126. We’d love to see a full season from Viney, he polls easily.
  6. Anyone know anything about Fraser Turner? I’m liking the sound of an outside accumulator that runs all day.
  7. The Roar Guru predicts the results per round and places his ladder at the end of each round. Worth a read in your spare time. 5 rounds down. https://www.theroar.com.au/2018/11/04/afl-ladder-predictions-round-1/ https://www.theroar.com.au/2018/11/06/afl-ladder-predictions-round-2/ https://www.theroar.com.au/2018/11/08/afl-ladder-predictions-round-3/ https://www.theroar.com.au/2018/11/09/afl-ladder-predictions-round-4/ https://www.theroar.com.au/2018/11/11/afl-ladder-predictions-round-5/

  9. Haha, it wasn’t me, my mate was hoping the money was right. Unfortunately it didn’t put in a good run at all.
  10. A previous best on here wins the big one Macca. Had the Brut in the last leg of a few multis, not to be though. Great effort regardless. El has been backed heavily for the next.
  11. Awesome win in a thrilling finish, thought it was race over as Sully looked to have the momentum. An even better win as both Jaameh and Sully somehow ended up running back towards the rails the last 100m.
  12. Keep the selections coming fellas. Will try my luck with another quaddie. I’ll probably take 5 runners in each leg and would be glorious to be alive in the last leg with El saluting. Good luck all, should be another good day’s racing.
  13. Not as much as stepping up but I feel Salem can go to another level. Has managed to play 40 games in the last two seasons and has been very good and why not get better, just look at Harmes. Salem is around the 70 game mark now. Classy and tough is a good mix, most of us feel very confident when the ball is in his hands. I’d be interested to see if he eventually moves out of half back but with Lewis nearing the end I think he stays there as the ‘general’ in the years to come.
  14. A couple of road teams for the weekend’s best. French Ligue 1 Sunday at 03:00 Guingamp v Lyon Lyon Win/Over 1.5 goals $1.95 EPL Sunday at 04:30 Crystal Palace v Tottenham Tottenham Win/Over 1.5 goals $2.15
  15. Best Bet. Flemington Race 5 Number 7 Jaameh $4.80
  16. In 2017 Jayden Hunt wore the long sleeve against GWS in Canberra.

  18. He’s worth a few dollars Macca. Although he is one of the lowest rated horses in the field, the race he won at Sale was a qualifier of some sort for Saturday’s race. He was equal 1st in the ballot at weights stage so he would have made the field regardless. It would have been an easy choice for me to make anyway. He’s not nominated for anything else and as far as I know it’s all systems go. Yeah, you could argue he’s a bit out of his depth but sometimes you just have to run with what’s presented. Like you said above, last race of the four day carnival and anything can happen. Comes in at a nice weight and they have a recent Group 1 winning jockey on board.
  19. The field legs certainly provided some value Macca. It’s a method I’ve used before and managed to get a few collects on quaddies. Nothing huge though. Aristia never crossed my mind even though it was the second pick. Live and learn indeed, it’s worth it even for the smaller percentage. Bleu Roche was tough in the win, managed to watch the race on one of my breaks. El Magnificence running at Flemington Saturday, up against one of our previous bests in ‘Eurack’. You never know, currently $19.
  20. My Quaddie for Ladies Day. Field/Field/ 1/ 16 208 combos. Will miss the racing today, hoping Amphitrite can run the distance.
  21. I came across an article by Sarah Olle from Fox Sports about team benchmarks for the upcoming season. We all know clubs need luck on the injury front and sometimes a season doesn’t always go to plan for one reason or another. With a fit and healthy list we are more than capable of making the preliminary final again despite a challenging fixture in my opinion. Sarah won’t be the only person in the media expecting us to be a genuine premiership contender in 2019. Personally, I feel Sarah’s pass mark is a bit high. I’m interested to read members’ benchmarks on here for 2019 and this discussion is not intented about Goodwin walking should we finish 8th. Mods, please feel free to merge if this has been covered elsewhere. MELBOURNE AFTER years of hell, the Demons are not only back to being relevant, but a genuine premiership contender. And after winning two finals in 2018 the club is on track to go one better and make the Grand Final. While the Demons lost Jesse Hogan to Fremantle, they added star defender Steven May (Gold Coast) to their list. Plus Jake Lever will be ready to go, after recovering from an ACL injury. There’s plenty of reason to get excited if you’re a Melbourne fan — and 2019 could be the drought breaking year. Pass mark: Second or higher
  22. If we do get there and it’s as close as this year’s GF, how many can say they will make it to the end of the game?
  23. Quinella paid ok Wadda. Cross Counter was last at one stage. It was a good day here with family, food and drinks. Had a win on Cross Counter and the day could have been better if we didn’t miss the last leg of the quaddie. We ran second and third in the final leg. The approximates were around 10k for those picks and we had a decent percentage of it, but like you said, we can’t complain. Yes, Godolphin’s first.
  24. Thanks, went looking for the article. Long ban. McEvoy also fined $3000 for using the whip four more times than the permitted amount in the last 400m on Cross Counter. I wonder if he’ll go on a payment plan.
  25. Haha Macca, they tried the old pattern of making the pace today to no avail. Poor old Tom, broken horse from all those past seconds.
