Round 1 team 2019
A Fox Sports article today talks about what each club should be excited about in 2019. This was our talking point. MELBOURNE: Everything.

AFLX Revamped
Does anyone know how this actually works in regards to how players get nominated for the draft? Do clubs list a certain amount available? Only thing I know is a limit of four players will be eligible from each club. I reckon we’ll hear Fritta’s name get called out.

Impact of rule changes
It will be interesting to see in a tight finish as you say, whether teams alter their back 6 or forward lines by throwing extra talls/smalls down there for the last 30 seconds or so after a go ahead goal. Obviously you’d prefer to win the clearance or hold it up as you suggest above with ruckman grabbing the ball to allow some kind of time to get numbers back, but say you lose the clearance quickly. Clubs would be practising these situations and have plans in place. I don’t think there would be much time to react to how the opposition sets up forward of centre in the dying seconds. I’m picturing some mayhem and mismatches in tight finishes this season.

Round 1 team 2019
A bit surprising to read Wines trained today RG. There was footage of Wines running around at training this morning in the rehab group with no strapping on either shoulder. I guess we’ll soon find out the extent of the damage.

Clubs Must Dread This Time of Year - Injuries
Training mishaps are common and it’s purely bad luck if you lose a player on the track so close the start of a season. I guess sometimes we as supporters dread reading training reports for that reason. You’d be peeved if you were Port though, had a read of the Alberton forums just to see how divided the opinion was. Yes, players have a life outside football, but when you’re favourite to become the club’s captain should you be taking care of your body by not exposing it to such risk? The scans could clear Wines of serious damage after all that, I would just prefer Viney kept playing Fortnite on his time off.

A Day at the Races
I let it ride Macca, for some reason TAB didn’t have the 1-13 markets in the NFL game markets, if they did I couldn’t find it. Took the Chiefs head to head.

A Day at the Races
Back with a bang! Must say, I enjoyed that race, in amongst the obstructed view from those beautiful trees, Zontario ran like it was in the 55 second challenge. What a win at The Rock!

2019 Leadership Group
Viney and Jones co-captains. Would love to see Jetta included in the leadership group alongside Max. Lewis is the interesting one for me, keep him in or is he out? I’m struggling to see how he plays 22 games. He will give himself every opportunity, his experience is invaluable, but surely it’s a positive sign when he’s getting pushed out of the 22. My smokey to be included is Harmes. His emergence on the back half of the year was nothing short of phenomenal. His finals series was A+, probably our best in the prelim too.

Round 1 team 2019
There’s no right or wrong in this thread, but if OMac is not in your 22 for Round 1 due to time in rehab, why is Melksham?

B: Jetta, May, Hibberd HB: Hunt, O Mac, Salem C : Fritsch, Viney, Harmes HF: ANB, Weideman, Spargo FF: Melksham, T Mac, Petracca R: Gawn, Oliver, Brayshaw I/C : Jones, AVB, Hannan, Lewis EMG: Garlett, Preuss, Kolodjashnij , Frost Would like to see Trac play deep forward as much as possible with the occasional stint in the middle. No doubt there will be a surprise selection or two come Round 1.

Training - Thursday 24th January, 2019
Anyone see what happened to KK? The Trac article also reported KK finished up a little early with adductor tightness and might need to be slightly managed.

Weids ready to grab opportunity with both hands
Weid is flying so far under the radar he’s not even listed in any Coleman Medal market. I don’t believe he will win it, just curious to see what one of our two main tall forwards was showing. A two goal per game average is doable for the Weid, exciting times ahead, especially with the new rules in place. Get the ball in quick from the centre and watch T Mac and Weid showcase their great marking abilities.
