A Day at the Races
Haha, applies to a few of us I’d say wadda. Talked to mate about the situation and it was interesting to hear some opinions from owners. Looks like Waller ended up with a couple of top ten draft picks above.

The Soccer thread
Well, some interesting results in the EPL midweek. Late Llorente magic completes Spurs’ comeback, Leicester being the pesky side they are holding Liverpool to a point at Anfield, Man City ruing a loss at Tyneside, Man U using a get out of jail free card late on for a point at home and what can you say about Chelsea.....4 second half goals to Bournemouth. This isn’t over by a long shot.

A Day at the Races
What a mess! Seems like dd above was on the money, ongoing investigations for a while from what I have read. It makes me feel for the smaller trainers even more now, the ones that do the right thing and yet they are forced to quit the game or move their base to some location you’ve never heard of just to maintain the business most likely unsuccessfully as well. When I say small I mean a trainer that has a handful of horses in a stable. How can you compete with a trainer that has up to 4-5 horses in a race sometimes? I remember trainers getting sick of Waller in Sydney a couple of years ago, it was like spot the non-Waller horse in the field. Here’s a question i heard on the radio. How many punters say at Mornington today would have thought twice about having a bet? Not many probably is my guess. It would be great if they cleaned all this out, but how do you do that? There’s corruption in just about every sport and banning wagering like I heard on the radio today won’t fix the problem.

Round 1 team 2019
I know your not the biggest OMac fan 56, I think he deserves a little more credit than some give him. From memory, he was our only tall defender in the team against Port last year and kept Dixon to 1.1 and played 100% of that game. That was last year of course, with 6-6-6 it could change the set-up down back, but I’d still back OMac ahead of Frost.

A Fox Sports article today talks about what each club should be excited about in 2019. This was our talking point. MELBOURNE: Everything.

AFLX Revamped
Does anyone know how this actually works in regards to how players get nominated for the draft? Do clubs list a certain amount available? Only thing I know is a limit of four players will be eligible from each club. I reckon we’ll hear Fritta’s name get called out.

Impact of rule changes
It will be interesting to see in a tight finish as you say, whether teams alter their back 6 or forward lines by throwing extra talls/smalls down there for the last 30 seconds or so after a go ahead goal. Obviously you’d prefer to win the clearance or hold it up as you suggest above with ruckman grabbing the ball to allow some kind of time to get numbers back, but say you lose the clearance quickly. Clubs would be practising these situations and have plans in place. I don’t think there would be much time to react to how the opposition sets up forward of centre in the dying seconds. I’m picturing some mayhem and mismatches in tight finishes this season.

Round 1 team 2019
A bit surprising to read Wines trained today RG. There was footage of Wines running around at training this morning in the rehab group with no strapping on either shoulder. I guess we’ll soon find out the extent of the damage.

I let it ride Macca, for some reason TAB didn’t have the 1-13 markets in the NFL game markets, if they did I couldn’t find it. Took the Chiefs head to head.

A Day at the Races
Back with a bang! Must say, I enjoyed that race, in amongst the obstructed view from those beautiful trees, Zontario ran like it was in the 55 second challenge. What a win at The Rock!
