A Day at the Races
Back with a bang! Must say, I enjoyed that race, in amongst the obstructed view from those beautiful trees, Zontario ran like it was in the 55 second challenge. What a win at The Rock!

2019 Leadership Group
Viney and Jones co-captains. Would love to see Jetta included in the leadership group alongside Max. Lewis is the interesting one for me, keep him in or is he out? I’m struggling to see how he plays 22 games. He will give himself every opportunity, his experience is invaluable, but surely it’s a positive sign when he’s getting pushed out of the 22. My smokey to be included is Harmes. His emergence on the back half of the year was nothing short of phenomenal. His finals series was A+, probably our best in the prelim too.

Round 1 team 2019
There’s no right or wrong in this thread, but if OMac is not in your 22 for Round 1 due to time in rehab, why is Melksham?

Anyone see what happened to KK? The Trac article also reported KK finished up a little early with adductor tightness and might need to be slightly managed.

Weids ready to grab opportunity with both hands
Weid is flying so far under the radar he’s not even listed in any Coleman Medal market. I don’t believe he will win it, just curious to see what one of our two main tall forwards was showing. A two goal per game average is doable for the Weid, exciting times ahead, especially with the new rules in place. Get the ball in quick from the centre and watch T Mac and Weid showcase their great marking abilities.

Thanks all, how’s Garlett looking out there?

I’m also hoping Hunt becomes a regular again in the 22. Question to everyone, where would Hunt suit us best? Imo, after reading training reports and observing a session last week a spot in defence is there for him to cement. We all remember his dash and carry over the last few years, but with the 6-6-6 rule in place now you’ll need to back your player’s ability to win the one on one should you lose the centre square clearance and the ball comes swiftly into your defensive 50. He has the pace to close down an opponent, his leap isn’t bad at all so he can spoil and as you stated he’s added muscle over the summer. He could find it a lot easier picking up one of his spoils and dashing out of defence with less numbers in front of him now. I mainly watched the defensive drills last week and most of them consisted of practising for the above scenario. Ball would come in rapidly to a man and the objective was just to kill the contest ASAP. Hunt was like a wild beast trying to get to the ball before his opponent marked it. If that wasn’t enough of a workout, the coaches kept Hunt and Jetta out on Goschs well after everyone headed to the showers. They were standing in the goalsquare and repeatedly had the ball thrown up in the air and the sole objective was just to spoil the ball to the boundary. The coach’s directive was loud and clear. Make sure that ball is dead after it comes in quickly to enable us to get our numbers back, set-up and back our strength of winning the clearance. Apologies for the long-winded post, but this is the kind of stuff that interests me and hopefully other members on here whenever I get a chance to observe a session.

- A Day at the Races
Tell them I accept Macca as long as I can bring a couple of sidekicks from DL on the show.? Not sure how many that is in a row, the formula seems to be working at the moment. It was a very strong win in the end, I thought it was done 100m or so from home. Your pick ran on well, it just seemed the leaders had a decent break on the rest. Creedence is usually a pace horse i thought. El ran ok too for a first time attempt at 1400m in town. There wasn’t much separating 2nd-6th. He did some work early, mate thinks they should have gone back from the wide barrier early.- TMacs Toe .... Again?
Predicting a bigger year than last for T Mac. Going with 66 goals by the end of Round 23. Although he’s now performing ballet he’s not ready for pointe yet. Yeah I know, not much going on this morning.- A Day at the Races
Best Bet Rosehill Race 9 Number 6 Harmattan $2.80 Win.- Training - Friday 18th January, 2019
Article also states umpires were there to officiate the match practice part of training. Would like to know more about which players participated and starting positions in this match practice.- Training - Friday 18th January, 2019
Did Vanders train in the main group today?- A Day at the Races
Smart, bumping the price up from $1.05 to $1.12 on race day.- Training - Wednesday 16th January, 2019
We’ll just have to wait and see what the plan is with the big boys. Also, a tad harsh on Max, his kicking for goal improved and was accurate during the finals when drifting forward. Can’t say I’ve seen too many of the 8 games Preuss has played so far but I’m guessing you have seen a big enough sample to make that judgement.- NFL

@layzie^^^ Absolute downer, was pretty confident we could get through Dortmund next month, wait and see now I guess.- A Day at the Races
Those names in the trial lol, just a shade better than the run of the mill trials at Balnarring.- The Soccer thread
Terrible for Spurs Macca. Let’s see if Pochettino gets his wish to go to the transfer market. I’m glad I had overnight feeding duties for the newest one, the Socceroos match was very enjoyable as a spectacle.- 50 point turnaround against the Dockers
Great memory and 30 minutes well spent watching the last quarter again, made even better when they panned to poor old Harvey in the Freo box late in the last and there’s one of the Scott brothers staring blankly.
