The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah
ThreeOneSix replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
However you spell it, you shouldn't belt your cousin with it, club women or drink drive. It's a shame you blokes on Demonland think this is stand up behavior, but it's not surprising at all. You all do Jurrah proud, you are all good little enablers. -
The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah

Black, white, yellow, pink or purple, It doesn't matter what colour or race the person is. I will not sit here and support Demonlands favorite son (Jurrah) for clubbing women, driving around trashed and belting blokes over the head with Machetties. Go take your race card else where you big sook. -
We'll beat Port round 1 anyway, so they may aswell have a roll down Casey.

The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah
ThreeOneSix replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Looks like Demonland favorite Liam Jurrah not only hits blokes with machette's - but also clubs women. At least we know what he does in his spare time, when he isn't drink driving. -
I've backed Viney for the rising star and pending he doesn't get suspended for decapitating another player, he'll give it a shake. Also had a saver on Wines and on exposed form thus far, Ollie should be fav, just ahead of O'meara. No doubt as soon as the real stuff starts, Viney will shorten right in. As for who is the better player, I'd prefer Viney, I think he is a little better balanced, has better skills. Hard to argue who has better smarts and both are absolutely ferocious tacklers. Wines has a better non dominant foot. They will both be guns.

Also, Scott Selwood ahead of Deleidio is surely taking the mickey.

Daniel Wells has had one good season in 10, yet gets a gig. And how could he have Cloke in instead of Jack Reivwolt. Cloke is the most overrated footballer going around.

The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah

Hopefully the court finds Jurrah guilty and they get this guy off the streets. He is a danger to society and most regular citizens would already be locked up for what he has done. I just pray justice is served. -
What do you call a spear without a head?
ThreeOneSix replied to Stingray's topic in Melbourne Demons
After watching Ben Kennedy carve it up last night, can help but think of what could've been. Viney, Kennedy and Toumpas in the midfield in years to come. Let's hope Dawes comes good with something this year. -
Pearce Hanley is considered Elite for Brisbane - and he is an out and out spud. Yet Nathan Jones doesn't get a mention for us! Either way Richmond won't be troubling the top sides in a hurry, it's not in their make up.

To quote Dermie " That boy has so much talent" Martin killing it, no surprise.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Yeah, Essendon will be next cab off the ranks one would think. -
Luke Tapscott - Another one of BP's Specials?
ThreeOneSix replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
According to the stats on the AFL website, Tapscott had 8 tackles and kicked a goal - whether or not that indicates he played up forward or not, not sure. But it does tell us that he is working hard, 8 tackles is a pleasing sign at least. -
Because the big clubs have bigger memberships - which equals big dollars and profits for clubs and the league, money talks - especially in the AFL, which is predominantly a business first and sporting organisation second. It didn't used to be this way, but that is how it is. The early part of last decade where we made the finals, the AFL was a different landscape altogether - it wasn't as much of a business. Bottom line is that we need to increase our membership, that should be our main focus and in this current landscape - the best way to do that is win games of football. Mark Neeld appears to be doing all the right things, the way our board handled our debt, has handled the tanking saga and turned over the list. We are now ideally placed to really just concentrate on winning games and turning this club around.

Luke Tapscott - Another one of BP's Specials?
ThreeOneSix replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure, hope so. He was mercurial as a forward in the juniors.. Hard to think Tapscott has unique skills and goal sense just looking at him, but hopefully we see some of that again. The kid can seriously play, he just hasn't a good run at it. -
Not a fan of Daniher, wasn't fazed with Bailey - as he didn't have the cattle, big fan of Neeld's, his turnover of the list alone is worthy of his appointment. He has got rid of a lot of spuds and soft players and brought in hardnuts and blokes who want to have a dip. But, I admit Daniher did make a big effort in the media, was quite likable and was good for the club at the time. His list management skills and gameday tactics left little to be desired though. He did have a far better list than Bailey, who was basically just thrown under the bus in his gig with the club.

Can see plenty of egg on faces after this year.. Tapscott is a gun. -
We need to win games of football, that solves the problem. I think we have seen the worst of it, hopefully in years to come we a list that dominates and supporters jump aboard. Then the AFL will give us home games against the big V clubs. That is the best way to deal with it, just concentrate on winning games and building and improving our talent.

I agree with the posters who thought Sellar was good last year. Looked good up forward in a few Crows games as well.

Pick your fringe player for round 1 and the rest of the season
ThreeOneSix replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hopefully Strauss can magically find some awareness. Kent looks the goods at least. -
While we are a bottom 3 side, McKenzie will be around. We need his type, even though he cannot kick to save himself and come to think of it, he cannot handball either. But he has determination and heart, which we lacked from 2008-2012. The fact McKenzie gets a gig probably reflects how poor our list has been, more so than how good McKenzie is. I guess at least he tries hard and gives his all, it's more than I can say for a lot of our players. I am probably sitting on the fence and not too fazed whether he is in the side or not, as we have far bigger issues than whether Jordie McKenzie is in the side.

Luke Tapscott - Another one of BP's Specials?
ThreeOneSix replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would've chose Tappy in the top ten that year. His goal sense was Stevie-J like and his around the ground work was encouraging, I certainly couldn't fault him. He kicked bags of 4 and 5 in the nationals and had an absolute thumping boot on him. He was built like a bull even back then and his hardness at the ball was fierce, there was no kinks in Tapscott. I thought it was a bargain pick up at the time and still do. On appearances, one could assume Tappy is one-dimensional, but I think he is one of the more versatile players on our list. -
We made the right call on Cheney and Buckley - tough calls, but right calls. Buckley is serviceable but cannot kick, whilst Collingwood can to play a player in the mould of Buckley - we can't. Chris Johnson was another interesting one, I reckon he'd look back with regrets about leaving us. Hopefully Gysberts isn't one we regret.

Tapscott will end up a better player than Bastinac. And if Fyfe's shoulders keep going, he might be done early as well. -
For the VCGLR to get tough, they would be going against Vlad and that would be pointless. The media tried to dictate Vlad and call the shots in the tanking investigation - and Anderson was suckered in. End result was Anderson shipped out and the media having egg on their faces by trying to directly effect the outcome of the tanking inquiry. No-one ever wins going up against Andy D and if the VCGLR push the investigation they will make Andy D look silly. He will then threaten to pull betting agencies away from the AFL, so basically the VCGLR have too much to lose by pushing hard. No one beats the AFL's narcissistic leader.
