  1. It's so refreshing to have such a logical article written about this tanking disgrace. Hopefully the tide turns and Andy D starts to feel some heat. All he is trying to do is protect his reputation at the cost of our club. The moment Andy had to justify himself to the media and prove himself to them - was the moment the heat got cranked up on us.
  2. McKenzie is shocking kick, not even AFL standard. Call it ill informed, I couldn't care less - it won't make the kid any better kick, he is shocking. As for our board picking McKenzie in the leadership group, ill put that one up near the Trengove for captain masterstroke.
  3. If we are any good in 2013, McKenzie shouldn't be anywhere near our best 22, let alone in the leadership. What ever happened to the club valuing good kicks? Now they reward blokes who can't kick, amazing!
  4. Probably whether he should be or not as well.. Considering Jordie can't hit the side of barn to save himself and constantly gives away frees, only natural to question what the hell is he doing anywhere near the leadership group. Props to the club for taking Jamar out of the leadership, he simply didn't do enough in 2012 as a leader or simply a player.
  5. Billings is a freak, that kid has sublime skills, goal sense, X factor and leadership. Will be a definiate top 5 in the upcoming draft one would think.
  6. I will be relieved when this sociopath is locked up. Too many of his loyal indigenous followers have enabled him for too long. Liam didn't want to work hard under Neeld. He wouldn't of made it back anyway, he is lazy and mentally soft.
  7. 10 games. Dom Barry is a freak and will be out there. Of the very little footage I viewed of Barry before the draft, I was hoping we landed this kid over anyone. Was stoked to of got him as steak knives! Personally I think he'll play a fair bit this year, he is slight on - but has the pace, agility, skills to do damage right away, looks to have a bit more of a tank than I expected at this stage aswell. Fyfe was a stick insect when Freo introduced him.. Players with immense skill get by quite well.
  8. I see this as a marketing opportunity. We need to get the next generation of Dees aboard - we NEED to boast our membership numbers and become a force. This ploy to have a song is purely for entertainment purposes. So here's what I suggest, get in contact with an artist - say 50 cent, who is business minded and will actually embrace the idea of Melbourne running out to his song. In return, when he tours, get him to do a concert in a Melbourne Demons guernsey. That would go a long way to getting the youth on board, if they see their idol in a Dees jumper, it's all aboard. Just a suggestion. You can pick any artist that is touring next year and even line them up to do it - and take it a step further and get them to do it live!
  9. Morton is a spud and will be lucky to even get a game at WC. Pettard will see regular football and his sublime skills will see him put on a few clinics, he'll have a solid year and be a vital key by the end of 2013. Stef Martin will have a very good year and no doubt a field day against our rucks. We better hope Gawn can come on, because at present we have nothing. Moloney will have a solid year as you'd expect, but he won't have a good enough year to make us kick ourselves - he is a selfish, one dimensional midfielder couldn't play to our set up. Gysberts won't do much, he's looked limited as a player and I'd expect that to continue. Rivers, as mentioned will have a great year, he is a class act and a great backman.
  10. Trengove needs to hit the gym more anyway. I see local footballers in better upper body shape than Jack. It was certainly an area that I noticed, so providing Trengove hits the gym over the course of his injury - it might actually be benefical that he is hauled up.
  11. The AFL wouldn't of done everything above board. If we do get stung, there is going to be some loop holes we can surely exploit. The AFL's gastapo tactics should leave them open for some counters in court. Considering St Kilda, Hawthorn, Collingwood, Carlton, West Coast, Richmond and Fremantle have all tanked in the past, I struggle to understand why we are being targeted. If found guilty of tanking, the stigma will be devastating to our brand.
  12. Good on the lads for letting their hair down, they train hard. Shame on the public for continuing to bait players. Go Dees.
  13. Looking forward to watching Viney. Rising star shoe-in I think, if he doesn't get reported for demolishing someone. Probably looking most forward to Jimmy Toumpas, just something about the kid. He's a real excitement machine and hopefully he provide some run out of the backline.
  14. You lads do a great job, keep up the good work.
  15. I cannot remember the last time the AFL or media just left us alone. It's a hell of a draft next year, we'd be stiff to lose picks. I had Billings already pencilled in, damn it.
  16. I am against it, they can't kick. Furthermore, name me an irishman who can kick? Other than Stynes, there hasn't been an irishman worth his salt play AFL. This suggests that skills need to be picked up early to really succeed. Nick Nat is an athletic freak, has played the game most his life - and still can't kick. I'd rather us put more time into sourcing young talent within the grassroots of Australia.
  17. Deegirl is most likely spot on. McLardy imploring we'll defend the integrity of the club last week was our last verbal shot at the AFL before court. I think the AFL will charge us and come unstuck in court. I believe they have taken this long, because the AFL are expecting this to be dragged through the courts and they want to cross all their T's.
  18. I hope we fight it tooth and nail. For those who say we should bend over to the AFL for a lighter penalty - thats not an option. We have to make a stand, even if the penalty will be stiff, we can't rely on the AFL to look after us - we are the wounded dog and we shouldn't just lie there and let them kick us while we are down. Go Dees.
  19. I think we'll make the 8. We will surprise a lot of sides. If Sylvia, Davey and Jamar can lift, with addition of Clark. Then we are a ten times better side than 2012. Our start to the year this year wasn't actually too bad. We have a lot of improvement in Blease, Tapscott, Trengove, they are all around the right age to really step it up.
  20. Cook just wasn't up to it mentally at this stage in his life. He can still make it later on down the track if he works hard. He is only young.
  21. Sydney wouldn't of rated in the top 8 in that before the start of last year. That list means absolutely nothing. But I am glad they put it out so I can nit pick at it last on in the year.
  22. Morton was a spud of the highest calibre.
  23. Cook is just another one of the mentally soft crew that wasn't cut out for the rigours of AFL. He joins Jurrah, Morton and Gysberts, a lazy, soft bunch of non-workers who malingered on our list.
  24. Dom Barry for mine aswell, Michael Long clone, whats not to like, he'll be a hell of a pick up. Viney - as I have already started my Jack Viney rising star fund and fully expect to cash out late next year. The kid is a competitive beast.
  25. By the sounds of it, he's a bit immature and just not ready for the AFL system. It's a shame, because along with Menzel they were the 2 biggest natural talents in the draft pool this year. One comes back from knee injuries and shows resilence and professionalism and the other (Garlett) just goes on benders and expects to be picked up. He'll be a risk even next year, it's probably going to take this kid another couple of years to wisen up. Not getting picked up might be the best thing for him at the moment.
