This time next week, I will be in West Papua but in a slightly remote area with no access to Internet. So confident am I however about the Dees that I am tipping them to beat Brissie and the Saints in my absence. What is the weather like there McQueen?

Plapp comes across as a very grounded individual. Of the six forwards you mentioned, Howe has been named in the back pocket. Personally, if Howe is to stay in the side only to play in the back pocket, I would have preferred to drop him in preference to Toumpas.

I predict that there will be a lot of competition each year between Vanders, Salem, Viney, Hogan, Brayshaw and Petracca for the Norm Smith medal when we start our string of twenty-first Century Premierships!

The fact that all the tipsters picked us has me worried as it is a bad omen. I preferred it when Garry Lyon and all his mates picked against us playing "away" (Geelong) and we made them all look stupid. At least it is another "away" game this Saturday so we have a good excuse if we lose (apart from the curse of the tipster)!

Interesting that for weeks Demonlanders have been selecting (or commenting on) potential teams on the basis that it is going to be wet and slippery (e.g. Don't go,tall)! What if it's dry?
