  1. A bit hard to slot White and King both in when both Vanders and Harmes have already been promoted for Petracca and Trengrove. Nice thought though!
  2. I wouldn't write Fitzy off for that tunnellball. If he had played last week and restricted Daniher to a solitary handball as he did with Boyd, every Demonland thread would be singing a different song this week!
  3. Interesting to see Jamar named this week instead of Fitzy. It seems the experiment of trying Macca at CHF isn't going to be perservered with this week!

  5. Personally I would like to see Fitzy brought back in and try Tommy Mac up forward for another week. It cannot do any harm especially as they are both of a similar age and have potential to play in our spine going forward.
  6. How uplifting to be a Melbourne fan and time after time watching our team " snatch defeat from the jaws of victory "!
  7. But a few weeks ago Fitzy gave Boyd an absolute towelling; we didn't anticipate that he was capable of that then, let alone at the beginning of the season when we recruited Frost to help Macca down back. Now we have the option of developing both of them into Macca's role, giving us options with both speed and height.
  8. Brad Miller might have taken marks but whenever he did (and didn't happen to be 15 metres out, directly in front) he always tried to pass the ball, sometimes successfully and sometimes not. Miller consistently wouldn't back himself to kick goals when he was 50, 40 or even 30 metres from goal (and he was paid as a KPF FCS)!
  9. 1. My father in his nineties is still a Demons member and has a red seat which he tries to struggle along to,sometimes. 2. I was impressed as a schoolboy when Brian Keneally was doing a teachers round at my high school. 3. Best moment as a fan is anytime we beat Collingwood. 4. Worst moment as a fan was going to a Final at the "G" in the mid Eighties and watching Collingwood beat us in the Under-Nineteens, the Reserves and the Seniors, all on the same day. (I was with three Demon mates and all our wives were Collingwod supporters.) 5. My great grandfather played for St. Kilda and was the first player ever reported at Princess Park in 1898. 2.) As a post script: as a player, I still enjoyed watching Jurrah and lamented his departure (and demise)!
  10. More then that, Mike Sheahan is a MFC member. I recall travelling into an AGM with him on the tram (in the Gutnick era)!
  11. Apart from Fitzy and Frost and (later) his young brother!
  12. I guess the only positive to come out of this weekend was that Casey gave Port Melbourne an absolute towelling!
  13. It should not have been his job this week. We should have named Fitzy!
  14. We replace him with Fitzy and Frost (and in a few years with his young brother). But first and foremost > kicking lessons (1.2 is not anywhere near good enough return from four set shots)!
  15. If we scored 18 points every time we had a poster, we would have achieved one of the greatest winning margins in AFL history. But of course, if we actually aimed for the goalposts then the ball would have gone right through the middle.
  16. But Macca was only responsible for two of our eighteen points! At least in the space of a quarter he put himself into a position where he had four set shots, more than any other of the nominated forwards were able to achieve in four quarters.
  17. Fitzy back, Macca forward (after goal-kicking lessons)!
  18. Nevertheless we scored 7/18 rather than 18/7, so you can place a bit of blame on our forwards because the ball was down there for scoring. Certainly some shots were on the run but TMac's 1.2 were all from (four) gettable set shots and if they had all been goals we would have been victors. Personally, I think it is a shame that we have not perservered with Fitzy after he towelled Boyd. Fitzy, Daniher and Boyd are all the same height and IMHO we should have played Fitzy on the weekend as it may have been a better match-up.As for moving Tommy forward, it worked with Neitz so perhaps we should be looking at this when Frost returns? Anyway, these are just my thoughts. We should have won and were out-coached. On paper our team is better than they performed and quite capable of beating Essendon.
  19. Vince Gawn Vanders Dunn Watts Cross Only omitted Jones because of some of his atrocious turnovers.
  20. If only half the behinds we kicked in the last quarter had of been goals, we would have won handsomely.
  21. He should have been on Daniher today! They are the same height (and the same height as Boyd)!
  22. Not a bad start today. He was far from our worst!
  23. Unfortunately many of Hogan's were up the ground!
  24. Not quite sure what is happening when Tom McDonald has two extra scoring shots for goal than Hogan and shanks two of them and Dawes kicks three points. What is happening with our forward line? This was a very winnable match however it would have been more of a rout save for Bernie Vince who didn't stop all day. As for some of the passes to players in danger, what was Jones thinking in some of his disposals?
  25. Why not for pick 5? With Prestia and Petracca both joining our midfield mix next year we will be competitive with anybody else in the competition!
