No I am saying that just because Daniel Andrews has made an election promise targeted at Labor electorates doesn't mean that it makes it a good idea or worthy of implementation!

Maybe you have never run a business, but employers are not going to give their regular workforce the day off and then employ casual workers at a massively higher rate. Most Clubs (and many cafe/restaurants) for a start simply won't open their doors depriving their members/clients of their normal recreation outlets. We are not talking about one day actually but also about Easter Sunday as well. The General Public derives not benefit from the Easter Sunday holiday (which is only about penalty rates rather than an extra 'holiday') and nearly everybody loses as so many pubs and coffee shops close depriving the man-on-the-street of some where to get a drink and the workers are laid off for four days, loosing their usual penalty rates. My local is shutting next Friday as they cannot afford to pay the penalty rates so I have nowhere to drink with my usual mates. As regards flicking the Queen's Birthday and Cup Day at least they have a focus and are established celebrations for Victorians. What do we get out of Andrews two holidays? They are a complete farce!

The Grand Final holiday and the Easter Sunday holiday combo is one of the most costly imposts on businesses since Federation. A disaster for the hospitality industry, the construction industry and most small businesses. A Grand Final Parade to the MCG instead of down Swanston Street, empty of office workers, will be a farce. But there is one guarantee and that there will be no CFMEU members watching it as they enjoy their four day weekend culminating in a Monday RDO. Maybe the West Australians will extend their visit to Melbourne by a day to watch the Parade but somehow I doubt it!

Interestingly enough, I agree within Hell Bent and others that Fitzy is a better long term option than Dawes! We need another forward apart from Pedo and, out of our current list, Pedo seems the only one who can (potentially) offer us up that "X" factor!

Frankly I would love to see the Russian and Crossy join Byrnes at Casey (and maybe even Bail, M. Jones, McKenkie and Terlich). Be good if they could all keep playing with their MFC teammates and bring home a VFL Premiership!

Our recruiters are starting to kick more goals than Hogan! Although two our Rookie list were re-rookied, have we had a better quartet at our disposal than this year with Harmes, King, Vanders and White?

I hardly think that it is irrelevant that we should strive to establish a good camaraderie within our team and a non-toxic culture. We are heading in the right direction here as you cannot help but note watching the team enthusiastically sing the Club song last Sunday.

I'd keep him for the reasons you have outlined above. Plus he is a good Clubman and popular with his teammates, consistent with the culture we want to encourage.

Let's get it done. Would Howe and our first round clinch the deal? Unlike some Demonlanders, I would like to persist with Fitzy as a versatile KPP rather than trade him out (so we don't regret it like we did with Steph Martin)!
