  1. YES it was as we drafted Cook, Watts and Molan whereas we traded in D, P & C from other Clubs, which was your suggested strategy in picking up established KPPs. It was our fault if we made bad choices and/or failed to develop their potential.
  2. I think that if we get any combination of two players drawn from Parish, Curnow, Weideman, Francis and Oliver then we have to be looking good in 2016, both in the midfield and down the spine.
  3. Also out Also out Dawes and in Vanders!
  4. Actually I would have preferred Carlton as:1) they are no more competitive than Brissie, 2) they would pull a bigger crowd, and 3) I would get more satisfaction beating them!
  5. Maybe the recruitment of Weidemann / Curnow will make this a non-issue?
  6. Joe Gutnick logs onto this site!
  7. Are you seriously comparing these three with Hogan (who has three years in our system, two under Roos)?
  8. If he doesn't slip through and (assuming we take Parish at #3) Curnow gets taken by Essendon, then, in all likelihood, we will have to chose between, Francis and Weidemann. Either Weidemann or Francis would similarly be a massive boost for us in the advent that we miss on Curnow.I am disregarding GC as a threat as I am sure that they have an arrangement with us when we traded pick #6 for their #3.
  9. Like Pederson, Dawes and Clarke! I'd rather develop our own like Hogan.
  10. We were always going to swap picks 3 and 10 from the Gold Coast for an exchange which involved our pick 6. They were going to retain a pick ahead of pick 10 (6) and the later exchange with GWS which landed us 7, merely bought the picks closer together. I am sure that we discussed the exchanges at length with both GC and GWS before each Club signed off!
  11. That will be handy after WADA wipes out their midfield!
  12. Also if he thinks we will select Balic ahead of both Curnow and Weideman!
  13. Don't you think that our FD discussed this at length when GC agreed to exchange picks 3 and 6? I am sure that we came to an understanding as to who we both were going to target. (Not so confident about Essendon playing ball though!)
  14. Oliver at pick 7 would be defying logic if either Weideman or Curnow were available and we selected the best available (parish?) at pick 3!2015 AFL Draft Profiles: Clayton Oliver
  15. That would leave us with neither Curnow or Weideman (contrary to every single Phantom draft that is going around).
  16. I thought that it was talked about at one stage?
  17. If we don't get Curnow at 7 then most likely we will get WEIDEMAN. It seems unlikely that both will be gone even if one of them is picked by Essendon. I am sure that our FD have the strategy in place to have a fair idea who we will land.
  18. Personally I would like to see both Matt Jones and Terlich paid out (notwithstanding the fact that ironically they were amongst our best players only a few short years ago), plus Hunt delisted. I am happy to persevere with Michie for another year as he seemed to be hitting his straps at the tail end of the season and he provides better depth than the other three. With the extra spaces we could be astute in the PSD as well as the draft proper by taking a risk out of left field (a la Vanders)!
  19. Hopefully they take WEIDEMAN and Francis, leaving us CURNOW!
  20. Remember we are pick 7.
  21. I just like the idea of us beating Collingwood on the Queen's Birthday by a point through a goal kicked by WEIDEMAN after the siren!
  22. Looking long term (and considering the three players that we have just traded in) would it be best: A) paying out Terlich and/or Matt Jones' contracts to immediately upgrade Vanders and Harmes; B) retaining Terlich and Matt Jones with the knowledge that we have the insurance of being able to immediately promote Vanders, Harmes or White should we suffer a LTI during the season?
  23. I know that but I always want another excuse to loathe them!
  24. I voted A and am delighted with our two Round 1 picks plus Bugg's video on the MFC website. (The only downside for mine was to see Carlton with so many low picks, however I guess they have traded away their forward line to get to where they are.)
  25. Now all they need to,do is draft themselves a forward line!
