WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOSHUA WAGNER
CBDees replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think that you can relax! -
I suspect that we will see Bugg go through the midfield, Vanders will be back, ANB, Kent, Salem and Stretch will see more time there, Tyson back to his old form and of course the new recruits in Trengove and Petracca. The midfield, already with Jones, Brayshaw, Vince and Viney, is far from the worst in the League, despite 'only' drafting Oliver. Next year we may even add Prestia. I'd relax and trust that the FD has some sort of strategy.

Nice prediction of Weideman and Oliver. How prophetic! -
I'm happy with Quigley's summation and wouldn't be disappointed if we took Francis (3) and Oliver (7)!
-
I suspect that he will receive considered parental guidance ensuring that he disassociates himself from the filth (however on the other hand I would have no objection if we looked at Weideman)!
-
I have just changed from Oliver (formerly Parish) to Francis based on Quigley's wrap. Happy for Oliver to go at seven (7)!
-
I have changed my mind to Francis at 3 and Oliver at 7.
-
After reading Quig's reviews of the most touted players, I wouldn't be unhappy if we picked up Francis and Oliver. If Francis goes down back, then Frost could become a forward option! Oliver seems ready to play in the midfield.
-
Wonder how it would look if Hird had to repay all earnings received from EFC since the infringement? Double Ouch!
-
He stitches everybody up but at least he is probably close to the mark on his predicted selections!
-
Trenners for me!
-
Even better stuff for somebody like myself who has just flown into Perth from darkest Africa (and no news/Internet for three weeks)!

Petracca, Brayshaw, Salem, Hogan. -
They were both pick 53.

The most clever aspect of the trading period was the strategic conversion of pick 6 and others to end up with picks 3 and 7. Not only will this snare us arguably the best midfielder in this year's draft but also the possibility of another elite midfielder or a KPP who can go through the midfield with pick 7! Well played I say! I am looking forward to 2016!- 1 reply

Notwithstanding the fact that neither M. Jones or Terlich are increasingly not in our top 22, they were at the time we drafted them and both featured prominently in our B&F for a while. I would like to see us honour their contracts as I cannot see any of the DFA waltzing into our post-draft best 22 so why bother? We may just appreciate having them there next year as automatic de listings for the next draft and let them continue to strengthen our Casey team for a tilt at the Finals in the interim.
-
I'd like to see them both play for Melbourne but the only way we can engineer it is if we take Parish at 3 (and hope Essendon pick Weideman and Francis). I suspect that GC won't grab him (Curnow) so let's cross our fingers!

Leaving us with Curnow? -
Corrected. My fingers got tangled!
-
Now corrected.
-
Frankly I would like to see us pick up two (Victorian-based) mates like we did last year. Both Parish and Curnow have played together with Geelong Falcons / Vic Country and are both handy players in two areas where we still have a need!
-
We should at least alternate it and the AFL should acknowledge us more as the original MCG occupier for most of last Century (i.e. formerly known as the MCCFC)!
-
We have got Petracca, Vanders and Trengrove coming back into the midfield (plus we have picked up three players who will rotate through it) so I think we should be open enough to consider a KPF to augment Hogan if that proves to be the best player available at seven. It is no good developing the best midfield in the AFL if Hogan goes down!

Missing pre-season with OP makes me think of Colin Sylvia. To think we were punting a Premiership with him and Brock Maclean as two top five picks. We thought at the time that they were the top mids in the draft.
