  1. Happy to have Goodwin for a second year with McCartney remaining in place as the Development Coach. If it ain't broke (or untried) don't change it! Ditto with our our Gun recruiting team and PJ.
  2. And Trengrove, Vanders and Petracca!
  3. 666 appreciate the shots as whenever I have attended training I have felt: 1) a bit self-conscious whipping out my android when so many have serious cameras clicking, 2) conscious that there are some running around who I don't recognise. Would it be a massive impost over the off-season to caption some photos so we can familiarise ourselves with the new lads and lesser lights?
  4. Maybe I shouldn't have used the expression "attack on the ball" (relating to the team) when we all know that Watts skill set is use of the ball and disposal to advantage. He is not the hardest man on our team but with recent recruitment he doesn't need to be the hardest as we are shaping up pretty well in that area with Vanders, Petracca, Brayshaw, Viney, Bugg etc etc. Watts value is in his goal assists and disposal which is one of the best in our team along with Salem. Having him part of the team improves it and it will be just one component of an overall marked improvement in the way the MFC competes in 2016 and beyond.
  5. When Jones and Terlch joined us we welcomed their attack on the ball and overlooked their skill levels (partly because the rest of the list was similarly deficient in that area)! They both featured in the B&F when they started with us and they still put in (to the limit of their abilities) at Casey. Whilst their time has past on our AFL list (even as depth players), it would be nice however to retain them on the Casey list and see them rewarded with a Premiership, albeit a VFL one. Ironically, VFL Premierships are all MFC can boast (1/2 a Century ago)!
  6. When is the decision due? Christmas Eve?
  7. In 2016 the whole team will be markedly different in both composition and attack on the ball. I expect a massive improvement, much more consistency and for Watts to be an integral part of the side.
  8. It will also let us play Melksham next year before we swap him with White on the Rookie list.
  9. 28 minutes ago, rjay said: So who should we take if available...Wines or Prestia? Whilst I agree with the rationale of Wiseblood regarding injury history, I suspect the GCSs will be easier to deal with than PP insomuch that I suspect that we might have already floated the idea of a future trade for Prestia when we traded picks recently. Maybe we could find ourselves in a position to trade for them both, after all, Collingwood secured both Trealoar and Aishe in the same trade period.
  10. It makes perfect sense to me!
  11. I am just recently returned from Africa. With 52C in Kruger (National Park), I am sure the animals would all happily swap for yesterday's temperatures and the green grass of Gosch's Paddock!
  12. Good luck! I am about to,start mine.

  13. And stated with confidence that he will be playing next year!
  14. Spencer's beard looks good but a long way to go before he resembles Maxy.
  15. Actually I would prefer to go back to black and white shorts which would be much more effective in the current age when there are no longer mud patches in the centre square and goal squares. Coupled with our red socks, why do we need a "clash jumper" (which often has the reverse effect of increasing the confusion)?
  16. Plus Roos, Goodwin, McCartney, Mahoney and Co. also help (without neglecting our recruiting team)!
  17. Frankly I question why we need a "clash" jumper and why we should be treated any different to Collingwood. We are the original (oldest) footy Club so, if the AFL in their wisdom (sic) feel anybody clashes with us, (which they don't) then let them wear a "clash" jumper.
  18. Being ineligible for "competitive matches" (i.e. Playing Magner & Co. in the NAB Challenge) is hardly a penalty when they drew a salary.
  19. What "provisional" 6 months? Was there a period where no attended training or drew a salary?
  20. WJ if you really want to go there I can stand in for you in the Caribbean!
  21. I agree with ENYAW and also think that too many Demonlanders are unnecessarily negative about our trading of next year's first round pick. Hopefully it will be pick 11-13 in any event, mostly due to us picking up Oliver with pick 3 this year!

  23. Maybe Hulett can be a parallel project to ensure that we maintain strong depth
  24. I quite agree Hampton. When I started as a MCC member, it was the MCCFC and my (architectural) schoolmate, Maxie Walker played cricket and footy both for the MCC. To support any non-MCC aligned team was disloyal and should have been grounds for censure. Personally I agree that if you don't support the MFC then you should forfeit/relinquish your MCC membership. Nothing less than 70,000 passionate Dees supporters should be the target with the Member's Reserve a sea of Red and Blue!
  25. This is such a big event that I intend to forgo public transport and walk from home.
