Reboot - Training photos Friday 19/12/2014 (exclusive to 'ology)

Thanks -
Cross with only a season or two remaining in his career would be silly (as was the Trengove/Grimes call). On the other hand Tyson would be an inspired call [as our other stand-out player) as would H joining the leadership team. Down the track we will probably see Viney emulating his father and hopefully one of Brayshaw/Petracca. The players who lead by example are the call!

Frankly i hope Zac gets plenty of game time in the Swans midfield next year and then comes to us regardless (primarily to play with his brother as captain).

Training - Friday 19th December, 2014
CBDees replied to Longsufferingnomore's topic in Melbourne Demons
Loved the look of Petracca and Brayshaw at training and they way they seemed to interact with each other; also Kent was very impressive. On arrival, it was good to see Gawn and Fitzy taking a few strong leading marks and i was surprised the way King was presenting in front of goal and roosting a few. Hogan will be a legend for us and Dawes won't be far behind, judging from his strong performances today. Not sure about Frost yet as he seemed to be outmuscled but HL and Garlett will certainly add some polish to the team. Jones was doing what he always does so well and why we are so lucky to have him as our leader for the next five years and Tyson is pure class. Generally, the boys were all very willing in the drills and I am optimistic that the Dees will give it a real shake this year. As one of our past coaches said, we will be the benchmark team that it is the hardest to play against. -
Best thing about the article in the HS this morning was the statement that MFC Football department is planning to target Zac Jones next year when his contract with the Swans expires.

I think that you will find that it is Jim Stynes with four (and Carl Dietrich holds the record for the number of Blues)!.

I have just been watching our game against Essendon on the AFL App. Watching Watts there you might like to rethink your views that he is not best 22. He is solid in my mind as he has a definite X-Factor! -
Comparing 2011 (Bailey) with 2014 (Roos) and then looking at the two years when Neeld was involved it says more about Neeld than Roos.
-
Then you will just have to become a regular possibly by posting some training reports (starting this Friday)!

Don't forget that Dawes is ineligible for Round 1 (Suspension) and surely you cannot think that M Jones will be the sub ahead of Toumpas, Salem, Brayshaw, Newton etc? Also where is Kent?

Clarke to be Geelong's leading goalkicker and our lowest goal tally to be against Hawthorn with Frawley as Fullback!

Let us hope that we can give the VFL a bit of a shake this year KC! Thanks for your match reports during the year; they are always read with interest!

How was Toumpas today? Seems that he has been mentioned in the other recent training reports to date. Is he still going hard at it?
-
I am not sure what carry [water?] meters has to do with modern footy but metres gained would certainly help the MFC going forward!
-
I am excited about Frost, all of of our recent draft/trade picks and both Salem and Toumpas! 2015 should be a great year for the MFC!
-
Use him to increase the depth of Casey to cover our inevitable injuries.

We did well by all accounts however the proof will be in th pudding come Round 1. A good indication of our recruiting smarts is the article in today's Herald-Sun on the Leagues 'Young Guns' which suggests that we have four players in the top 13 who are most likely to make an impact this year. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/the-20-young-guns-set-to-light-it-up-in-season-2015-who-is-your-clubs-young-gun/story-fni5f22o-1227147068265

We also have to remember that the team named and discussed above was a 'Round 1' team [when Dawes is suspended]. For Round 2, expect Dawes to replace Pederson and also a few other changes might emerge after the conclusion of the pre-season.
