WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
CBDees replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The only bigger break would be if we were given the PP that we deserved and we could granb Wright as well! -
Much as I like Wright, there is very little liklihood that we won't pick up Brayshaw (who trained with us last Pre-season) along with whoever the Saints offer us out of McCartin or Petracca!
-
Nice to see that you have selected Vince Jones, one of Australia's top jazz musicians!
-
What about the son of our Senior Coach who is in this year's draft? Surely that could be as persausive argument as past players [especially if it convinces our coach to hang around the Club longer in some capacity]!
-
I am chafing at the bit to see McCartin, Hogan and Brayshaw aplus HL, Frost and Garlett) all running riot in Round 1 2015.

It was certainly not intended as a negative trait!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN NEWTON

I have no problem with your team however I suspect that you have underestimated the 'ready-to-play' ability of Frost, Brayshaw and McCartin. Much as I like Grimes, I don't believe that he is an automatic starting 22 on the basis that we have re-appointed him as co-captain. -

I am more concerned about the Jamar ruck releif rather than including Grimes but if you use Gawn for this purpose, who would you omit of those named? -

Listening to the radio this evening, a member of St. Kilda's football department let it slip that he was looking forward to 'working with Petracca' . I suggest that this guarantees that we will have Brayshaw and McCartin as our two recruits and I absolutely am looking forward to seeing them both line up for Round 1. With Hogan and McCartin both added to our forward line, and Brayshaw and Newton added to our centre, I am looking forward to this year. Frost, HL and Garlett also making an imput and we have to be able to [at least] double [or triple] our games won next year!
-
We can reasonably anticipate the full line-up with the exception of who we take at picks #40 and #53 [plus the two rookies], most of whom are unlikely to feature in our first 22!

Don't they use a spoon to heat up their drugs before injecting?

CHANGES 2014 - Retirements, Trades and Delistings
CBDees replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes indeed. We made some bold predictions last year envisaging a forward line including Dawes, Clark and Hogan. -

I am not arguing with anything that you say, but for Newton to play Round 1, then he will have to be more highly regarded than Brayshaw, Cross, Mitchie etc. With the new players coming in, it will even be hard to select Grimes in the back half, or JKH/Kent in the forward half. -

A big call rjay! Why don't you post your likely team (including our likely #2 and #3 draft picks)? -
She does mention him in the body of her article [along with Billy Strech]

CHANGES 2014 - Retirements, Trades and Delistings
CBDees replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just thinking about who we have recruited [and are predicted to pick], if they are all fit at round 1, it may be a difficult decision as to who to leave out? [e.g. Where do you play Grimes when you have a backline of Jetta, Dunn, Frost, HL, McDonald and Garland?]. This problem is repeated in both the midfield and the forwardline, with our likely incoming players. -
And after all we do have Pederson and Fitzy for some depth there. I will be very happy if we grab McCartin at #3 but happy for both 40 amd 53 to be mids or small forwards/defenders (as after all, this is about the range we got JKH and Jetta).
-
Frost would not have been there for us in the PSD. He would be playing for St Kilda instead. Our selectors aren't stupid as to the process or the odds.
-
Who are your top 3 picks in order for the 2014 National Draft?
CBDees replied to ignition.'s topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope that you are right [except for Jake Lever]. I would be happy with McCartin however for the same reason that you suspect that the Saints may lean towards him! -
Like Sylvia!
-
Didn't Jetta andTtom McDonald go around this pick? Also wasn't Hird somewhere in the 60s?
-
He has more than a slight problem!

Maybe if we did delist him and/or transfer him to the rookie list if would give us pick 2 in the PSD which may or may not be a proposition when we look at the other Club's delistings?
