Lauren Pearce out for (most of the) season
6/9/24. Lauren Pearce has been forced to the sidelines with a scaphoid fracture. Ruck Pearce sustained the injury during the Demonsā final training session of the week, with scans later confirming the extent of the damage. āUnfortunately, we will be without Lauren for an extended period, due to an injury she sustained in a spoiling incident on Thursday,ā Mulholland said. āLauren will require surgery and at this stage, we expect her to be available to play again in six weeks. āItās really unfortunate news for Lauren, but we know she will attack her rehab with the utmost professionalism, and do whatever she can to help and support her teammates from the sidelines over the coming weeks.ā

2024 Phantom Drafts
Yes I think Bo Allen is very impressive and I would rank 16-17. He has good size as a mid and skills. Davis at 25-29. Heās a good runner and wins the footy. Itās his kicking that might be a knock on him just imv.

2024 Phantom Drafts
Yes I think he has pushed up to the mid 20s range now. If the Dees get that pick 25 off the crows (ANB + MFC #51 -> Crows #25) then the following players are probably in the frame⦠Hamish Davis, Jesse Dattoli, Harrison Oliver & Christian Moraes.

2025 fixture wishlist
With 18 teams each playing 23 games in a 24-round season, all clubs are hit with ādouble-upā match-ups, where certain sides play games against each other twice during the year. The AFL uses a āweighted ruleā to determine who plays each other twice, breaking the 18 teams into three groups: the top six teams from the previous yearās ladder (based on finals results), the middle six and bottom six. Teams then play teams that finished in their bracket on the ladder more often - though this rule is rubbery at best !!! Top six: Swans, Power, Cats, Giants, Lions, Dogs Middle six: Hawks, Blues, Pies, Freo, Bombers, Saints, Bottom six: Suns, Dees, Crows, Eagles, Kangas, Tigers so we should perhaps play 2x Suns, Tigers, Kangas, Bombers, Freo, and Lions AFL to really shaft us 14th place gets us in the frame for regular Sunday schedule okay locked in likely fixture to include Donut āround zero ā bye š¤®round 1 away Sat night 7.40 versus Cats at GMHBA Cattery š»round 2 home MCG Sunday 1.10 v Dockers media to run stories in Dees low home game attendance š¤round 3 Away - Friday night 7.40 to Lions at Gabba -95% humidity and then a lightning storm hits the ground š»round 4 Home game during Adelaide-fest magic round weekend at Mt Barker v Eagles on Sunday at 12.45pm š¤®round 5 Away - Kangas Saturday 12.45pm in Hobart ššround 6 Home game MCG v Tigers on Thursday 7.40 Anzac Eve media to run story on Dees low home game attendance Round 7 bye š¤®round 8 Away v Port Power on Thursday night 7.40 š»round 9 Home game MCG v Giants at 1.10pm on Sunday / Motherās Day media to run story on Dees low home game attendance š»round 10 Home game MCG v Suns at 1.10pm media to run story on Dees low home game attendance š¤®round 11 away game v Saints at marvel 3.20pm Sunday afternoon ššround 12 Home game MCG v Pies for Kings Birthday Monday round 13 bye to be continued

Trade Targets
Just bumping this for discussion Question⦠would Parfitt be a possible replacement for ANB as a half forward? š¤š¤ presume Cats prefer others and he might see better opportunities with MFC. Query is why is he only playing half the year and in/out senior team. Due diligence obviously!!! Future 3rd round pick 𤨠CAT TO LEAVE... BUT NEW HOME UNCERTAIN Geelong onballer Brandan Parfitt is expected to leave the Cattery at seasonās end, but whether he locates a new home isnāt certain. The 26-year-old has played 130 games since debuting in 2017 and was a part of Geelongās 2022 premiership after being called up late for an injured Max Holmes, and he is eligible for unrestricted free agency this year. Parfitt has managed just nine senior games in each of the past two seasons and reportedly doesnāt have a contract offer on the tablefrom the Cats. However, while a departure seems imminent, a destination for Parfitt is less clear. āHe looked for a new home,ā Herald Sun journalist Jon Ralph told Fox Footyās Midweek Tackleon Tuesday night, before reeling off a couple of potential landing spots. āMelbourne wants to bring in experienced midfielders, West Coast is open to free agents like him and Jack Graham.

2024 Phantom Drafts
Yes sometimes it takes the 4th or 5th year after the draft to actually rate the elite top picks or the depth of a draft. This year from attending a handful of Coates League games live, others online and watching the online videos of the championship matches, I think this years group has a deep of talent. There is an elite group of mids, but also down in the 40s and 50+ others are definitely worth an AFL opportunity imv.

Though any youngster post 50 is more a rookie chance The only āPhantomā with real credence is Cal Twomeyās late mail in the weeks close to the draft, ideally a week or so pre draft. This is because his media role gives him access to club recruiters and more notably player agents privy to the levels of interest shown by clubs in specific players.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Really surprised that Luke Kennedy isnāt spoken about more as a bargain draft pick. Plays like Andrew Brayshaw. Can win it close. Can run and spread. Tackles. Smart user of the footy. Has really showed his ability in last few games with 30+ possession games and impact. Heās alongside a star studded Dragons midfield but definitely holds his own.
-
Coates Talent League 2024
Thanks @manny100 i like the tackles count. Shows intent and competitive nature. That seemed a little missing from his game. Definitely got the athleticism for AFL.
-
Caleb Daniel
No. Too slow now. Gets exposure defensively. Good skills but too short and too slow. Modern footy demands athleticism and defensive ability as well. Dogs saw it with Hunter. They now see it with Daniel. He was good. But itās now passed him.
-
Trade Targets
No. Not for the Dees. Sam Day is 32 tomorrow. 14 years at the Suns. 155 games. Heās done. Injury just hurt his career most of the way through unfortunately. Probably 4-5 years too late now. He should be allowed to gracefully retire and be a leader at Southport or Palm Beach footy club or go to where he can enjoy finals or winning a premiership !!
-
Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
I think Kangas would like a Luke Trainir type. Iām hoping. I think the Eagles would like a Jagga Smith type. Iām hoping. Dees best three options imv are Langford, OāSullivan, Lalor. If any are available at our pick, then happy days.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
ANB. He has played 96 out of 97 games possible in the last 4 years. Super consistent. Super reliable. ANB and MFC pick 51 for Crows pick 25. They are getting a player who walks into their best group (7-8) and is a leader.
-
Pick 25 for McAdam
Yes then you turn to young and hungry VFL players with an upwards trajectory. All wouldāve been reasonable low cash. Not recruits players (like we did) who are on downwards cycle and still in contracts $$$ higher than normal.
