Welcome to Demonland: Xavier Lindsay
spirit of norm smith 14,869 Posted May 17 āļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Last weeks Coates League player of the week was Gippsland Power captain Xavier Lindsay. Had 32 disposals in the midfield, with high efficiency, using his left foot deadly disposal. He had the good mix of skill, smarts and athletic ability. Lock him in as a future star. thanks @adonski Xavier Lindsay is exactly the type of player we need right now. He is elite. Elite skills. Reminds me of Josh Kelly in his moves. Can play half back or on ball. Was CLEARLY best on ground in the Vic metro and Vic country game . Captain of Gippsland Power Unfortunately injured in last weeks game and wonāt play again this season heres my draft rankings . Heās at 9 Heās a star 2024 draft rankings update ⦠1 Finn O'Sullivan - Oakleighāļø 2. ***Brisbane match bid. Levi Ashcroft Father son. 3. Harvey Langford- Dandenongāļø 4. Sid Draper - Sth Adel āļø 5. Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Pert overseeing his own performance. Thatās part of the problem!! The external part gets a diluted in my view.

Trade Targets
We would need to rob the bank ⦠I mean keep $1million aside a year for the salary cap. 6 years and $6million would his price. GWS would demand 2x first round picks.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
OāSullivan is definitely my number 1 ranked player. His form last year as an under age player was comparable to any of the top 5/6 last year. Heās a star. Had a few niggling injuries but that shouldnāt deter recruiters. Plays like? Like a slightly shorter version of LDU. Aside from him Langford, Lalor and Lindsay are my preferred options. I agree Smillie could be star or a bust. Doesnāt work hard enough without the footy. Disposals can be erratic by hand. But his kicking is elite and he can kick 50-60 metres easily. He also kicks goals. Depends on his will to succeed and learn.

Trade Targets
https://www.afl.com.au/news/1211848/carlton-blues-mr-reliable-matt-kennedy-on-ever-changing-roles-pre-season-goals-bringing-the-joy/amp Iād be a Yes to Matt Kennedy. Versatile. Contested ball player. Can actually negate opposition mids which we fail to do. Contracted to end 2025 and popular clubman so imv highly unlikely to depart.

Hopes for 2025
Deakyn Smith won the Casey B&F in 2023 and still got delisted. Sestan averages 11-12 possessions and less than a goal per game. He had some strong games 3-4 but missing below par in many others.

Trade Targets
midfielders: Peatling (GWS), Alex Davies (suns), Deven Robertson* (lions) Sheldrick (Swans)*, Erasmus* (Freo) Ben Hobbs* (ess), Brodie** (Freo) running defenders: Seamus Mitchell (hawks)* Taller defenders: Jai Serong (hawks)*, ruck depth: Nick Bryan* (ess) forward/ruck: Peter Wright*** (ess) goalkicking small forwards: Parfitt (cats) Rosas* (suns) *contract to 2025 **contract to 2026 ***contract to 2027 Dees looking at probably 2-3 recruits from other clubs to provide more depth and cover some departures. Peatling is a long shot but worth offering him a deal. Even imv if the Dees perhaps grabbed Robertson and Parfitt, that would help ANB and give us a contested ballwinner through the midfield.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
When you make him the sub 7 times, drop him in an instant and prefer others, JJ had to walk out !!! Thatās the truth. Goodwin didnāt show him that he was wanted.

AFLW: Rd 02 vs Brisbane
And ⦠MELBOURNE is set to be without Aimee Mackin during the 2024 season after the Irish recruit tore her anterior cruciate ligament playing Gaelic football in Ireland this week.

Hawks Rebuild
Clubs worked out the zone within a short period of time. They also worked out not kicking high to May and Lever.

AFLW: Rd 02 vs Brisbane
Purcell. Facial injury Harris. Shoulder Pearce. Hand all out for the season missing from last year too ⦠loss of West, Gay, Birch, Sherriff in the bizarre ā letās rebuild strategyā so thatās 7 missing from best 21 of last year !!!!

Hawks Rebuild
So they lose in the preliminary final in a cruel ending after the siren ⦠and after missing 4/5 shots for goal !!!

Hawks Rebuild
Dees were guarding grass and hoped their zone would cause turnovers. Hawks applied pressure to the man at the contest and tackled to cause turnovers. Simple game footy. Wish Goody sat next to me so I could point it out. The zone defence style is dead. Watch the Freo games x2!!!!

VFL Recruiting options 2024
How did Jean-Luc Vellissaris miss out on the All VFL squad? Clearly one of the best players in the league and carries the Bullants.

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Agree DD36. I can only get to see a few minutes streamed today but try to catchup during the week. Obviously Hynes and Langford should dominate and will watch them closely. Unfortunately for the Power, their skipper Xavier Lindsay is injured and will miss the rest of 2024. He is an elite ball user across midfield or halfback and plays like Josh Kelly. Should be drafted pick 9-12 in my view. He might be the player the Dees try to trade the future 1st round 2025 to get access to a second first round pick this year.

Hawks Rebuild
Actually Cats and Hawks are the masters of the NRL pass. Clearly throwing the footy but not getting caught. Libba did it once last night and somehow was called for throwing the ball. He might have said something but remembered the dissent rules!!!

Hawks Rebuild
From the 2018 finals, the past 5-6 years rebuild has been built on the combination on many things Development from the existing core group & youth: Sicily Worpel Impey Nash Moore Hardwick Morrison Lewis* wiser heads to guide: Gunston Breust early draft picks: Ward Watson. Weddle Macdonald Day*Mckenzie* smart recruiting from other clubs: Frost Chol Scrimshaw Meek Amon Ginnuvan DāAmbrosio smart mature bodies: Newcombe Father sons: McGuinness. Dear. NGA zoning Jiath* āāāāāāāāāāāāāāā- * didnāt play last night ⦠Day, McKenzie , Jiath and Lewis to add to that team that smashed the bulldogs also have Seamus Mitchell, Butler, Grainger-Baras and Ryan as other youngsters who had excellent years at box hill and could come in. though itās probably also due to Sam Mitchell drive and smart footy IQ and connection. Let them play attitude!!

Lauren Pearce out for (most of the) season
Yes. Its GEORGIA CAMPBELLās time. Iām unclear if the Dees can sign an injury replacement for the ruck !!!

Lauren Pearce out for (most of the) season
6/9/24. Lauren Pearce has been forced to the sidelines with a scaphoid fracture. Ruck Pearce sustained the injury during the Demonsā final training session of the week, with scans later confirming the extent of the damage. āUnfortunately, we will be without Lauren for an extended period, due to an injury she sustained in a spoiling incident on Thursday,ā Mulholland said. āLauren will require surgery and at this stage, we expect her to be available to play again in six weeks. āItās really unfortunate news for Lauren, but we know she will attack her rehab with the utmost professionalism, and do whatever she can to help and support her teammates from the sidelines over the coming weeks.ā

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Iād try to appeal to JT to get some good left footers with elite kicking skills. Working for the Hawks right now !!!
-
2024 Phantom Drafts
Yes I think Bo Allen is very impressive and I would rank 16-17. He has good size as a mid and skills. Davis at 25-29. Heās a good runner and wins the footy. Itās his kicking that might be a knock on him just imv.
