2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think Bravo is a pick in the 40s-50s. Certainly will appeal given his speed. I think clubs will look at Archie Perkins around 16-18 and I think by comparison, Bravo offers as much and would be a bargain in the 50s. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

Exactly. Even pick 31 only. Ffs. Kangas are dumping Brown. Screw them. -
2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

Not quite a small forward but if we are after an electric quick forward then I’m thinking Will Bravo. Even his name would be iconic. Saw him in Stingrays 2019 team (when I went to see Hayden Young). Bravo has that burst of speed with the footy and loves a goal. He kicked three on the day and I was thinking he’d be handy asset. -
2020 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

I’m still onboard the Jack Carroll train as the player we need and the player we are targeting. Teammate at East Freo colts with Riv and Jacko in 2019. Plays like? Simon Black. That’s why he is what we need. Skilled. Tough. Outside-in type midfielder. Turning 18 in December. 188cm 6’2 left footer. Saw him in 2019 Futures match and reckoned he would be an excellent fit. Would compliment our midfield bulls. Hope JT agrees. It could be why we are pushing to get into the Dogs pick 14 swap. (Macrae would also be very very good ). -
Updated on the above. Given 45 (44+cat b Bradtke) on list for 2020 then we remove 7 (assume Tmcd stays). Add Ben Brown, thats 39 (38+Bradtke) on list. AFL says 42+cat b. So can add 4 from the draft or DFA pool.

Agree. Narkle is a good option and definitely worth a shot at seeing what we can accommodate
-
If Vanders wants to go to Sydney, Hewett is a fair swap. But I’m for keeping Vdhberger. A good man for the trenches.

Josh Mahoney - “they gave us pick 31”

We already have tiny Charlie Spargo. I’m not a big fan of Lonie and offers nothing extra give we have tiny Charlie

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

Very good summary. Pick 33 is as far as we should be willing to pay. Kangas are getting rid of Brown. They actually have little room to argue. -

Need to get this post and video deleted. Ffs. Jack Carroll is exactly the tall skilled midfielder we need at MFC. Dees trying to push up to 1st round and I think it’s not just for Findlay Macrae. Jack Carroll is better imv and hopefully JT is onboard. -
Unsubscribe. It’s a NO

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

I think we can give Roos the Preuss pick 31 and the future 2021 Lions 4th round pick. They are kicking Brown out. Screw them. -
-
Ok. So get 14. Then use Preuss pick from GWS say 31 for Ben Brown. So we have 14,68,69. A gun and then two absolute smokeys/stab in the dark type picks.
-
So we have 2020 - 2nd rd 26,33 3rd rd 43,50 4th rd 68,69 2021 -1st round, 3rd round , 4th round (Lions) 2020 #33 likely to be used for Brown. Still awaiting news on Preuss (and Tmc) trade news. Really want that 2020 Rd2 pick 31 off Giants for Preuss.

Agree. Ben Brown for pick 33 is about right. Kangas are pushing him out. Mid-range 2nd round pick is par. -
Travy14. I don’t need the tape, I was at the game and remember two rippers. Hunt kicked a beauty in the 1st running through from outside 50m to nail one on the run. ✅ (I recall another long goal from outside 50). Then in the last he used his pace to run and collect, burn opponents and goal in the last. Probably one of the more impressive team goals of the year. ✅ I think he was the only one except Trac to kick 4 in a game for the year.
-
Agree. Opponents would simply get the ball to ground and run off 4 talls. Even 3 talls is a stretch. key talls - Ben Brown and Weid (Mitch Brown) (Tmc???) Play tall and Agile - Jacko and Fritsch (rotate) Small forward- Pickett (Spargo) Half forwards - Melksham, Hunt (Vandenburg)

2020 Player Reviews: #24 Trent Rivers

And kicked the winning goal v Giants !!!! -
I’d thought we would have grabbed Witherden. Otherwise it’s looking like Ben Brown will be our only real addition.

Tom Phillips - Outside Skills and Speed
spirit of norm smith replied to Simon Port's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree. He’s exactly what we need and would walk into our best 18 in that left hand side wing. But $600k is overs by a long way. I’d expect him to be $400k type player. No wonder the Pies have extreme salary cap challenges. Maybe I’m just behind the current pay scales. -
And maybe allow Harmes to play more rotation through midfield-half fwd-interchange.
-
Yes. Dodoro wants to exchange the muffin for a croissant and an Apple danish. He says the Muffin was excellent and deserves two good selections in exchange. The coffee was unsettled but will stay with Dodoro.

On topic. Losing Hannan is not a big blow as we have plenty of mid sized half forwards. In fact we were oversupplied last year. Melksham, Vandenburg, Hunt, Bennell, Hannan and Dunkley. Fritsch plays more of a 3rd tall forward but can move up to half forward more if needs. With the departure of Bennell, Hannan & Dunkley it allows us to trim the list and to look at other areas to concentrate on. ie. Wing/half back runners.
